HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution No. 227-05 05-24-2005 • RESOLUTION N0.227-OS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, COMMENDING THE BIRDVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT (BISD) ON THE PROPOSED BOND PROGRAM AND ENCOURAGING THE DISTRICT TO INLCUDE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW RICHLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN PHASE ONE OF THE PROPOSED BOND ISSUE. WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills supports the Birdville Independent School District preparing students to succeed in school and in life by providing them with an outstanding educational framework from a premier school district; and, WHER'~AS, for more than 18 months, members of the community, administration and the Board of TrusteE s, have been developing and evaluating a long range plan for all of the district's facilities, and have presented a plan to the Birdville ISD Community for public input; and, WHEREAS, the Richland Hills City Council commends the Facilities Committee and Birdville ISD on the proposed Long Range Plan for Facilities; and WHEREAS, the Richland Hills City Council appreciates the consideration given to include the replacement of Jack C. Binion and Richland Elementary Schools as part of the long-range plan; and WHEREAS, the Richland Hills City Council respectfully requests consideration be given to include the construction of a new Richland Elementary School in Phase One of the proposed plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Richland Hills supports the efforts of the Facilities Committee and Birdville ISD to secure along-range plan that benefits the entire Birdville ISD; including the replacement of Jack C.
