A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS,
ENCOURAGING THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE TO
ALLOW EXISTING RICHLAND HILLS' BUSINESSES AND
RESIDENCES TO MAINTAIN 76118 ZIP CODE DESIGNATION.
WHEREAS, The United States Postal Service requires Richland Hills
businesses and residences along commercial corridors of Grapevine Highway and
Glenview Drive to convert from 76118 zip code to 76180 zip code designation.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Richland Hills, Texas, believes the
76180 zip code designation creates an identity concern with respect to the physical
location of the business being located in the City of Richland Hills.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Richland Hills, Texas is committed
to economic development in the city and supports the use of zip code 76118 for all
businesses and residences located within the city's limits.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY T'HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, that the City Council encourages the United
States Postal Service to cease the practice of requiring Richland Hills businesses and
• residences along commercial corridors of Grapevine Highway and Glenview Drive to
convert from 76118 zip code to 76180 zip code designation.
PRESENTED AND PASSED on this 26th day of July 2005, by a vote of 5 ayes,
0 nays at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Richland Hills, Texas.
