HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution No. 254-06 02-14-2006 RESOLUTION NO. 254-06 • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION TO TXDOT FOR THE STATEWIDE TRANSPORATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (STEP) FOR PEDESTRIAN SIDEWALKS ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF HIGHWAY 183 (BAKER BOULEVARD) FROM THE EAST CITY LIMIT TO THE WEST CITY LIMIT AND FOR THE SOUTH SIDE OF BOULEVARD 26. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS: WHEREAS, Highway 183 and Boulevard 26 are main arterials through the City of Richland Hills and are in need of pedestrian walkways to be installed along the north and south sides of Highway 183 and the south side of Boulevard 26; and WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) is currently accepting applications for the Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program (STEP) for transportation improvements that will improve the environment and enhance our citizen's quality of life. • NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Richland Hills will apply for funding through the Texas Department of Transportation to install pedestrian sidewalks on the north and south sides of Highway 183 from the east city limits to Crites Street, a distance of approximately 9,000 linear feet, and on the south side of Boulevard 26, a distance of approximately 5,900 linear feet. The City agrees to commit to the project's development, implementation, construction, maintenance, management and financing. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
