HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-03-22 AgendaThe Agenda Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, preceding the Regular Meeting March 24, 2022, was held Thursday, March 3, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m. remotely, via telephone call -in. The following were noted present: Mayor Daniel J. Reiman Councilmember Vincent Bellino " Jorge Diaz " Ajmar Johal " Susan Naples Also noted present were Carmela Pogorzelski, Municipal Clerk and Robert J. Bergen, Esq., Law Director. Noted absent was Councilmember Dennis DiMascio. Mayor Reiman asked Municipal Clerk Pogorzelski if Councilmember DiMascio explained if he was going to be here tonight. Municipal Clerk Pogorzelski replied that he said he was not available. The meeting was opened with a moment of silent prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilmember Bellino. Mayor Reiman asked everyone to remember the Freedom Fighters in the Ukraine fighting to maintain their democratic nation, state and history as a 1,000 year old nation. He asked everyone to pray for them as they fight Russian aggression fiom Communism. The 2022 Annual Notice was emailed to The Home News Tribune, The Star Ledger and posted on the bulletin board and on the doors of the Memorial Municipal Building on January 11, 2022. Notice was published in The Home News Tribune and The Star Ledger on January 14, 2022. All items being voted on tonight were posted on the Borough's website, www.carteret.nei prior to tonight's meeting. MARCH 3, 2022 AGENDA MEETING ROLL CALL NOTED ABSENT MAYOR REIMAN PRAYER, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE MAYOR REIMAN STATEMENT OF MEETING NOTICE Upon MMS &C, by Councilmembers Diaz and Bellino RESOLUTION #22 -63 "AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH THE LAW FIRM OF BATHGATE, WEGENER & WOLF" RESOLUTION #22 -64 "AWARDING BID FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO MILIK STREET AND MINUE STREET" Mayor Reiman said we will be using NJDOT funds with regard to Milik and Minue improvements. RESOLUTION #22 -65 "APPOINTING FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER PURSUANT TO NJ CIVIL SERVICE REGULATIONS" RESOLUTION #22 -66 "AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS PERMIT APPLICATION" Mayor Reiman said the draft permit came in Monday we expect to finalize details with the Army Corps and have the permit authorized and executed so dredging can start by early summer. were Adopted. Upon individual Roll Call Vote, Councilmembers Bellino, Diaz, Johal and Naples voted in the affirmative.
