RESOLUTION Or THE BOROUGH Or CARTERET,
IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY,
AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION AND
MUNICIPAL MATCH FOR THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT Or TRANSPORTATION RAISE
GRANT REGARDING THE INTERMODAL
TRANSPORTATION TERMINAL BUILDING
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey (the `Borough) is
preparing to undertake the construction of an Intermodal Transportation Terminal Building as
part of a waterfront project totaling over $30,000,000; and
WHEREAS, the Borough is authorizing the application for, and is expected to receive, a grant
from the United States Department of Transportation through the Rebuilding American
Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program, in the amount of
$20,250,000; and
WHEREAS, the Borough is required to match at least 20% of the grant; and
WHEREAS, the Borough is prepared to match the grant up to the amount of $5,000,000, either
through cash on hand or through a bond ordinance, upon the award of the grant.
NOW,'IHEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of
Borough of Carteret, in the County of Middlesex and the State of New Jersey, as follows:
Section 1. The aforementioned recitals are incorporated herein as though fully
set forth at length.
Section 2. The Borough hereby authorizes the submission of the RAISE
Grant application to the DOT and affirms its commitment to
provide a minimum of 20% matching funds upon the award
of the grant.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect in accordance with applicable law.
