ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $5,500,000 PROCEEDS FROM THE
SALE OF A BOROUGH PARKING GARAGE TO PROVIDE FOR
VARIOUS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN AND BY THE BOROUGH
OF CARTERET, IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET, IN THE
COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Borough of Carteret, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey (the
"Borough ") hereby appropriates the amount of $5,500,000, consisting of proceeds from the anticipated sale
by the Borough of a Borough parking garage to the Middlesex County Improvement Authority, to provide
for 1) replacement of the Carteret Public Library roof, 2) upgrades to the Carteret Library electrical
infrastructure, 3) repair of the Memorial Municipal Building fagade and steps, 4) remodeling, addition and
conversion of the former Carteret First Aid Building for use as new headquarters for Office of Emergency
Management and 5) acquisition of property located at 55 -57 Washington Avenue, also known as Block
6703, Lot 5 on the official tax maps of the Borough, including all related costs and expenditures incidental
thereto, and further including all work and materials necessary therefor and incidental thereto.
Section 2, The Borough hereby certifies that it has adopted a capital budget or a temporary
capital budget, as applicable. The capital or temporary capital budget of the Borough is hereby amended to
conform with the provisions of this ordinance to the extent of any inconsistency herewith. To the extent
that the purposes authorized herein are inconsistent with the adopted capital or temporary capital budget, a
revised capital or temporary capital budget has been filed with the Division of Local Government Services,
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect as provided by applicable law.
