GAC Minutes 1997 11/12GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Nov. 12, 1997 Attending: Rick VanNoy (Not Present) Max Williamson Jeff Goodman Bill McMurray Jeannie Campbell(Not Present) Harry Simpson Also in attendance were Jim Henderson and Dari Kimm (Ladies Assoc. Pres.) Minutes: A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the October meeting with the changes, and upon vote it passed unanimously. Public Request or Comment: Fees Refunded • Mark McCarroll has asked for a refund on his 97 season pass (see attached). A motion was made and seconded to recommend that Mr. McCarroll be refunded $322.00. Upon vote it passed unanimously. • Marion Kalbus has asked for a refund on her 97 season pass ( see attached). A motion to recommend that Mrs. Kalbus be,refunded $221.00. Upon vote it carried unanimously. New Business: Jim Henderson / Golf Enterprise Fund Balance Sheet Jim gave the Committee a thorough run down of expenses and revenues generated by the Golf Fund over the past two years. The Committee was pleased with Jim's report and thanked him for his time and explanation of the Balance Sheet. Jim also mentioned that the Golf Fund will be billed for approximately $40,000- $50,000 a year for water and that it was not in the budgeted expenditures. The Committee was concerned on how the Golf Fund was going to come up with the additional money to pay for this increase in water charges. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend that City Council review the 97- 98 Budget and it's viability as it was brought forward to the G.C.A.C. tonight, and for the City to take a special look at the Revenue Charges for Services of $738,445.00. Upon vote it passed unanimously. Fee Changes for 1998 Jeff mentioned a 9 hole rate that would be available all hours of the day while open for golf. Carl said, that it could be done with 27 holes. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend to City Council that the Golf Course have an all day 9 hole rate available at $12.00 weekday and $14.00 on weekends. Upon vote it carried unanimously. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend that the Early Bird pass be eliminated. Upon vote it carried unanimously. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend to City Council to keep Green Fees at there current price. Upon vote it carried unanimously. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend to City Council to keep Trail Fees at there current price. Upon vote it carried unanimously. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend to City Council to recommend that the College pass be eliminated. Upon vote it carried unanimously. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend to City Council to recommend that the Junior Pass be increased to $75.00 for McCall Donnelly School District and $150.00 for all other Juniors. Upon vote it carried unanimously with one abstention. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend to City Council to recommend to have a weekday pass at $275.00 (Monday - Friday). Upon vote it carried unanimously. • A motion was made and seconded to recommend to City Council to recommend an increase in locker fees to $30.00. Upon vote it carried unanimously. The Committee discussed the $5.00 toumament fee and felt that at this time it should remain the same no action was made. Carl said, it was in his contract that this fee could not be increased. Old Business: Priority List Report Tabled until next meeting. Staff Report: Mike Combs Mike said, that they have been able to get a few projects completed this fall. He also mentioned that the irrigation system was completed and he was looking forward to not having any major construction on the course this next year. Mary Clemmer Mary gave a report on how her season was in the restaurant and that she was pleased. She mentioned that this was her 2nd best year that she has had. Mary said, that she was getting some bookings for the winter months. Carl Hoss Carl said, that he had gone to a City Council meeting to get the accomidators package approved and that all was needed were the new green fee rates figured in and it was good. Bill corrected Carl and said that it would be looked at again with the new figures and then they would reconsider the proposal for the accomidators. Carl asked about a possible reduction on some green fees for the Rocky Mountain Jr. Golf Assoc. The request was tabled until the next meeting. Adjournment 8:10 Next meeting Dec. 10th @ 5:30
