HomeMy Public PortalAbout8-26-21 ABCABC BOARD MEETING A meeting of the ABC Board of the Borough of Carteret was called to AUGUST 26, 2021 order by Mayor Daniel J. Reiman on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at approximately 10:00 a.m, in the Council Chambers, Memorial Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey. Upon Individual Roll Call, the following were noted present: ROLL CALL Commissioner Frank James, Jr. Fred Gerstler Mayor Daniel J. Reiman Also noted present were Robert J. Bergen, Esq., Borough Attorney and Carmela Pogorzelski, Board Secretary. The meeting was opened with a moment of silent prayer and the SILENT" PRAYER/ Pledge of Allegiance led by Corporal Kyle Hansen, USMC. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Notice of today's meeting was sent to The Home News Tribune and The Star Ledger and posted on the bulletin board on August 13, STATEMENT 2021. Notice was published in The Home News Tribune and The Star MEETING NOTICE Ledger on August 18, 2021. The purpose of the meeting was to hold an enforcement hearing, re: PURPOSE OF A.B.C. License #1201 -33- 061 -013, liquor license transfer, re: A.B.C. MEETING License #1201 -44- 046 -007 and any other business that may come before the Board. Mayor Reiman said the enforcement hearing was taken off — Waves of MAYOR REIMAN Wine entered a plea of guilty after discussions with the Borough's A.B.C. Prosecutor, Glenn Slavin. He said they agreed to plead guilty to one (1) charge and received a ten (10) day suspension — they will close for five (5) consecutive Mondays and Tuesdays which will start after Labor Day. APPROVAL AUGUST 26, 2021 (Continued) Upon MMS &C, by Commissioner James and Gerstler and unanimous affirmative vote of the full membership present, the minutes of June 25, 2021 were approved as transcribed and engrossed by the Clerk. Upon MMS &C, by Commissioners James and Gerstler and unanimous MEETING OPEN affirmative vote of the fall membership present, the meeting was TO PUBLIC opened to the public. There being no comments or objections, upon MMS &C, by PUBLIC POR'T'ION Commissioners James and Gerstler and unanimous affirmative vote of CLOSED the full membership present, the meeting was closed to the public. Resolution #04 -21 was introduced by the Mayor and referred to the Board for action. Upon MMS &C, by Commissioners Gerstler and James RESOLUTION #04 -21 RESOLUTION #04 -21 TRANSFER WALGREENS TO "AUTHORIZING A PERSON -TO- PERSON TRANSFER OF A.B.C. CARTERET" TOWN LICENSE #1201 -44- 046 -007 FROM WALGREENS EASTERN CO., WINE & LIQUOR, LLC INC. TO CARTERET TOWN WINE AND LIQUOR, LLC" ADOPTED was Adopted. Upon individual roll call vote, Mayor Reiman, Commissioners James and Gerstler voted in the affirmative. Resolution #05 -21 was introduced by the Mayor and referred to the Board for action. RESOLUTION #05 -21 Upon MMS &C, by Commissioners James and Gerstler SUSPENSION — WAVES OF WINE, LLC RESOLUTION #05 -21 "ORDERING SUSPENSION OF PLENARY RETAIL CONSUMPTION LIQUOR LICENSE #1201 -33- 061 -013 WAVES OF WINE, LLC" 2 AUUUM Z6, ZUZI (continued) was Adopted. Upon individual roll call vote, Mayor Reiman, ADOPTED Commissioners James and Gerstler voted in the affirmative.
