Please bring your donations to City Hall this month and place them in the donation barrel in the lobby. Your gifts will make a difference this Christmas season! Lock Your Vehicles and Homes Theft from unattended vehicles and homes has become more of a problem on Tybee in recent months, as Chief Price has warned in his recent articles in the Breeze. Make sure to lock your car or truck and do not leave valuables in plain sight. A simple locked door makes a vehicle or home a far less attractive target. Neighborly Behaviors Tybee is a small community, and small acts can have big effects on our friends and neighbors. Although ordinances are in place to impose fines on people who leave their trash cans at the curb or who do not pick up after their pets, good neighbors take care of such items as a matter of course. Your trash cans cannot be placed at curbside more than 24 hours before the scheduled trash pickup and must be removed from curbside within 24 hours after trash pickup. Dog waste needs to be picked up and disposed of properly in trash containers immediately. As fecal contamination can cause disease and quickly affect water quality, you need to pick up pet waste even in your own yard to help keep Tybee’s status as the nation’s healthiest beach! Utility Bill Reminder Don’t forget utility bills are due the 20th of each month! City Offices Closures City offices will be closed for two holiday periods this month. The first will be November 11th for Veterans’ Day, and the second will be for the entire weekend of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, including both Friday and Saturday that weekend! Water bills are due a week prior to these dates, so we hope this will not provide too much of an inconvenience! Spring Tides Again This Month November 4th and December 3rd both present 8.5’ high tides, representing some risk of flooding on Highway 80. Please don’t drive into water covering the road. It doesn’t take much water to represent serious danger! You risk not only your own person and belongings, but also you put the lives of any rescuers at risk who may have to come pull you out of flooded areas! Election Information Don’t forget to vote!
