Published in pamphlet form by the authority of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois, this 3rd day of November, 2009. ORDINANCE NO. 2900 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING SALE OF THE PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield ("Village"), Will and Kendall Counties, Illinois, as a home rule municipality in accordance with Article VII, Section 6(a) of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970, enacts this Ordinance pursuant to its home rule authority; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the laws of the State of Illinois, the Village has the authority to adopt ordinances necessary for the maintenance of personal property owned by the Village; and WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village have determined it necessary to declare certain personal property owned by the Village to be surplus, in that the property is no longer necessary or useful to the Village, and to authorize the sale of that property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL AND KENDALL COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION ONE. That the Preamble to this Ordinance is adopted by this reference as if fully set forth herein. SECTION TWO. That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield finds that the 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, VIN 2G1WX15K129285475, utilized by the Investigations Unit of the Plainfield Police Department, is no longer necessary or useful to the Village, and the best interests of the Village will be served by declaring it surplus property and permitting its sale at the Manheim Arena Auction in Bolingbrook, Illinois. SECTION THREE. The Village Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid property to the successful purchaser at the above -noted location. SECTION FOUR. This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage by at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities, and approval as provided by law.
