RE: Valley Soil & Water Conservation District Lake Cascade Riparian Fencing Project
Dear Grant Committee:
The City of McCall is in full support of Valley Soil & Water Conservation District's
Application for the three-mile livestock exclusion and shoreline restoration project along the
southwest shore of Lake Cascade . Recurring health advisories and lake closures for Lake
Cascade greatly impact our local , agricultural , and recreational communities. Cyanobacteria
Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) negatively affect our local economy.
The City of McCall has successfully worked with Valley Soil & Water Conservation District
on previous 319 grants with positive outcomes for our community. We have worked
cooperatively with the District to address many TMDL issues within the North Fork Payette
River Watershed . With the growing concerns for the water quality of Lake Cascade, funding
support for this agricultural , riparian fencing project is critical to the economic security of our
community.
