HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-28-1960PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING The meeting was called to order by Chairman Fortin at 8:15 P.1i. January 28, 1960. All members of the Planning Commission wore in attendance as was Archie Carter, Village Engineer. Elevation dray ngs made by the engineer relating to yhe Norma: Reitz property were displayed to the members. The house is located 57' from the West line and 52' from the East line and 61' from the North line, the foundation footings are 5' below Mr. Dingmans driveway. Excavation varied from 3' to10' from the property lines. There is fill available for a 5 to 1 slope on the finished grading. The problem can be solved by exercising care in grading and conforming to the code in the size of the house. A letter from Minneapolis Home Builders Association was read to the Planning Commission which stated that in their opinion below grade area does not count as part of the livible space in a house. Motion by Alex Schumacher to recommend acceptance of Mrs Reitz plan for a 30x24 house. Motion seconded by Herb Gaspar. The vote by blind ballot was as follows; 2 yes 2 no 1 abstained from voting. Archie Carter brought up the question of considering street specifications and left information with the members to study before the question is discussed further.
