Site improvements include new landscaping, new stormwater retention system and connections from Pleasant St to the City’s recently acquired ‘Walker Pond’ property. Submitted 8/9/2023 ZBA-2023-05 Arsenal Way 480 Special Permit/Site Plan Review and Amendment (#01-32SP) to allow a portion of the existing parking to be replaced with a 5 to 6 level parking garage that will support the parking needs of the existing office/lab R&D building on site and the proposed Watertown Mall Transformation Project. The site changes also include updated landscape and pathway connections. The new mixed-use redevelopment, carried out in phases, will include laboratory/R & D, retail, office, commercial and amenity space within 8 buildings, with supporting structured and surface parking. Petitioner proposes to replace gross floor area of approximately 415,000 square feet in existing buildings with approximately 974,000 square feet in new buildings while increasing open space and making site and public realm improvements. Pending 7/12/2023 ZBA-2023-02 Main St. (and 2-10 Cross St. and 53 Pleasant St.) 104-126 Special Permit with Site Plan Review to redevelop five lots (including the Salusti Building, post office, and adjacent one-story retail building on Main Street, reuse of the brick row houses on Cross St, and the parking lot and a two-family on Pleasant St.) into a new mixed-use development.
