AWARDING BID FOR FERRY TERMINAL BULKHEAD INSTALLATION
WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the Ferry
Terminal Bulkhead Installation (the "Project "); and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received six (6) bid proposals for the Project;
and
WHEREAS, Agate Construction, of Clermont, N.J., ( "Agate ") has submitted the lowest
bid for said contract as evidenced by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing
Department and with the Borough Engineer in the amount of $473,258.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T &M Associates, has reviewed the
above bid proposals and has recommended the award of a contract to Agate, in a total
amount not to exceed $473,258.00, in accordance with T &M's Recommendation of
Award; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret as follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with Agate construction of Clermont, N.J., for the
Project for the sum of $473,258.00, in accordance in all respects with
the request for proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department, the Borough's Consulting Engineers T &M
Associates and the Borough's Director of Engineering.
3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal
approval from the' New Jersey Department of Transpiration and the
New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage and Hour
Compliance, as may be required.
4. That the aforementioned award of bid is fimther contingent upon the
Borough Law Director approval.
Adopted this 1611 day of June, 2022
and certified as a true copy of the
original on June 17, 2022.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, six (6) bids were received for the above referenced project. A detailed bid summary and
copies of the three lowest bids are attached. The following is a summary of the bids;

with acceptable references.
We recommend a contract be awarded to Agate Construction, 1030 Route 83, Clermont, NJ 08210, in the amount of
$473,258.00, subject to certification of funds, approval of the Borough Attorney, the New Jersey Department of
Transportation and the New Jersey Department of Labor, Office of Wages and Hour Compliance.
