HomeMy Public PortalAboutGAC Minutes 1996 12/11GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES DEC.11, 1996 Attending: Rick VanNoy Max Williamson Jeff Goodman Bill McMurray Jeannie Campbell Phil Gillman Minutes: Max made a motion to approve the minutes of the November meeting with a change of the date to the 13dh. Bill 2nd the motion and it was approved unanimously. New Business: Advertising & Marketing Plan: Mike showed the committee what he has gotten installed on the Internet. The committee thought that was great and gave several more ideas to possibly have put on the pages.(tournament dates, Irrig. System, Fees, 18 holes still open, Etc.) The committee wants to look at getting a reduced price for accomidators for day passes during the week less Holidays from Mid. Sept. through October, and also consider from opening day through June. Bill mentioned that we need to find a way to keep the rounds played up at the 30,000 mark especially with only 18 holes open this next year. Committee also wanted to make sure this topic remains on the agenda. Old Business: Financial Overview Max gave the committee a quick overview of the 94/95 financial statement, then he went over the 95/96 statement in more detail. The committee was very appreciative of Maxs' explanation, they said know one has ever explained it to them that well before. The committee asked that this be a continuous item on the agenda. Snack Shack Moving Mary said that she talked with Lona Bell and that there was no problem with moving the shack toward her property more, she also called the Crandel's to let them know the situation. Committee mentioned that it was just going to be behind the trees more. Max asked if their were any other plans for putting it some where else because it was brought up at the last meeting. Rick mentioned a couple of places #6 tee area, behind #7AorB greens. Congestion was everyone's concerns with those areas. Mission Statement Final Approval Bill made a motion to approve the Mission Statement, Phil 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. Staff Report: Mike Combs Mike showed the committee a lease program offered by John Deere for new equipment. The committee was impressed by the dollar figure but, was wondering what would happen to the other equipment that we just purchased and if we could get enough money to pay off that equipment from a trade in from John Deere. Mike said he was not sure but, would have someone from Deere come up and give us a price on our old stuff. Mike also mentioned he would have to get with Jim and find out what our actual debt is on equipment purchases. Mike said that this would have to go out to bid just like everything else because it is over $25,000. Mary Clemmer Mary mentioned her concern about the lean to for the winter fire escape. It has collapsed and broken a couple of 4x4's and popped out some railings. Mike said we would just have to shovel off the deck this year and worry about a new lean to next year.
