HomeMy Public PortalAboutGAC Minutes 1996 08/14GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES AUG. 14. 1996 ATTENDING: Ted Whiteman Rick VanNoy Phil Gillman Jeff Goodman Jeannie Campbell Bill McMurray Rick motioned the minutes of the June 28th meeting be approved Jeff 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS A. Timberlost 2 Homeowners Association ( Pump House Resolution) Bob Christensen said, the homeowners along the 5th fairway would be sending a letter to the G.C.A.C. and City Council on the visual intrusion of the new pump house. They would like to know what plans would or could be taken to improve the asthetic look to the building ( painting, landscape,etc.). Ted mentioned that the homeowners could possibly contribute to help with the cost of painting and landscaping around the building. B. Committee Member Resignation Ted informed the G.C.A.C. on his resignation from the committee. Ted distributed a formal letter and gave a Thank You and Good Luck speech. The G.C.A.C. sadly accepted his resignation. Rick commended Ted on a job well done over the last six years and also said his experience would be missed. C. Ester Nicholson Requested a refund on a season pass. Due to a physical injury Ester was unable to play golf. Jeff made a motion to recommend to C.C. that a pass be given for the 97 season less the amount of times played in 96. The motion was seconded by Rick and the committee passed it unanimously. Old Business A. Budget Items for 97 - Status Council Action Mike reported that the council agreed on G.C.A.C.'s motion to build a maintenance facility over a two to five year plan. Mike said Mayor Killen wanted Ted Burton and Jim Henderson to figure out how to break the lease on the property across the street from the current maintenance facility. Mike said there would be a special council meeting to approve and adjust all budgets for the 9th of September. B. Irrigation Systems Report Mike reported the only bid was high and that there was another company that wanted to bid at a substantially lower price than that of the original bid. Mike said that Mayor Killen rejected all original bids and to re -open the bidding A.S.A.P. Staff Reports Mike said he was looking for help because everyone is going back to school. Mary said the cart Mike arranged to get during the Amateur was great and thanked Mike again. Mary also asked if there was a plan to build another storage shed. Phil mentioned to the committee that during the months of operation, Mike should not have to take minutes and that it could be split up among the members of G.C.A.C. Jeanne mentioned that the Marshalls could check water jugs throughout the course during the day. She also mentioned the Marshalls need some direction on rules for cart traffic control (distance from greens etc.) She was also curious about yardage on hole #8 Birch if it was going to be corrected. Jeanne also mentioned that Carl should pay for the cement tee area, because he collects all revenues from the range.
