HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.02.01 T Vonderheit Maverik LetterTo the City of McCall Planning and Zoning Commissioners, I am writing to ask you to vote NO on the proposed Maverik C-Store and gas station in our downtown corridor. Approval of this enormous gas station in our scenic corridor would go against many decades of public input and comprehensive planning which strives to “maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and attractive environment…and represent a small town feel.” In addition, Maverik’s application for a Conditional Use Permit does not fulfill the 12 conditional use requirements, with specific regard to NOT being harmonious with the character, appearance and general welfare, health, and safety of the neighborhood. I have been a full-time resident in McCall for over six years. I am disturbed by the direction that this city seems to be begining to lean in regards to property development. If approved, this would be another major step in supporting the greed of large businesses, while disregarding the preservation of the very thing that makes McCall a pleasant place to live. I intend to closely track the decisions of ellected officials, as well as those they supervise, and cast my vote accordingly when ellection day comes. I ask you to vote NO on this project based on its misalignment with our City of McCall Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2018 and not meeting the conditional use requirements necessary for approval. Sincerely, Trent Vonderheit 645 Fox Ridge Ln. McCall, ID 83638
