Hello, I would like to request my comments be forwarded to the Town Council on their decision to approve the Drinking Paddle Boat. Town Council, It is with much regret that I learned of your decision to approve the Drinking Paddle Boat. As stewards elected to be the public protectors of the Lake and the Community, it is a noble role that you hold. Protecting the quality of life of the Community and the Lake are both integral to your role and leadership. One Council Member stated that it is another "fun" activity for the lake...sorry, but the Lake is already "Fun". It does not need to target an audience of people who need to get out on the Lake and drink, "party" and ride in this clown car boat. Access to the Lake is a poor argument for this boat, there are dozens of ways to access the Lake: swim, float, paddle board, kayak, canoe, boat, etc. Payette Lake is both Recreational and Restorative in its use and beauty. How does this approval serve those goals. What kind of Lake do you want to create? Its this kind of slippery slope that you have to stop. If the Town Council proceeds with this kind of approval, the quality of life on the Lake will devolve for those who visit and those who own homes on it. Payette Lake is central to the beauty of the community. You have essentially approved a boat whose role is to get drunk and not be responsible for driving the boat. Really? Is that what we want to aim for? The boat is tacky, and the kind of tourist junk that you would expect in a Florida Spring Break beach event. We can and must do better. It truly is your role to be the guardians of the Lake. I hope you will re-consider this decision. -Thank you, Nicole Amundsen 2238 Payette Drive McCall, ID
