A RESOLUTION OF THE RICHLAND HILLS CITY
COUNCIL FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADOPTING A
CIVIC CENTER MASTER CONCEPT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills, Texas has a goal of meeting recreation and open
space needs through a planned program of facilities and programs as outlined in the Comprehensive
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has a goal of using the Civic Campus as a key location for the provision
of City services, recreation, and community events; and
WHEREAS, the City has undertaken a study to determine the needs of the community in
regard to a future Community Activity and Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, as part of that study, the City has created a concept plan for the entire Civic
Campus; and
WHEREAS, the need for a Civic Campus was also identified in the Economic
Redevelopment Plan, which was adopted by the City Council on January 24th, 2006, in which the site
and area was identified as having a recommended use of, amongst other things, a Municipal Complex,
Town Center; and
WHEREAS, the City will use the Civic Campus Concept Plan to guide future development
and use of the Civic Campus; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the Concept Plan is illustrating concepts for use
that are subject to future modifications and revisions as deemed appropriate by the City Council at
their sole discretion in order to meet the larger vision of creating and maintaining a Civic Campus for
the residents and visitors of Richland Hills.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS,
TEXAS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Adoption of Plan. The City council hereby adopts the City of Richland Hills Civic Campus
Concept Plan as illustrated on Attachment A of this Resolution.
