HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 62-89ORDINANCE NO. 62 -89 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING THE TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR OPERATION OF NON - COMMERCIAL SOUND TRUCKS IN EXCESS OF THREE HOURS PER DAY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Subsection 2 of Section 4248.5, Chapter II, ARTICLE VII of The Temple City Municipal Code, is amended to read as follows: "Section 4248.5 2. Operations are permitted for three (3) hours per day, except Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays when no operations are authorized. The permitted three -hour operation shall be between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 12:00 noon and 3:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.; provided that upon petition and proper showing, the Council may allow opera- tion in excess of three (3) hours per day but no longer than 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately. The City Council expressly finds that the hours of operation of non - commercial sound trucks is a matter of great public concern, affecting the health and safety of its citizens and hence this Ordinance concerns the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety. 1962.
