MINUTES
MAY 9, 1996

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Whiteman at the McCall Golf Course Club
House.
Minutes: Phil Gilman moved the minutes of meeting on April 16 be approved Rick VanNoy
seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
1) Staff Report Mary: Mary was pleased with the first weekend, it was busier than expecting.
Mary said she found a trailer for $250.00 and said this will work for our first year, and at that time
we can reevaluate what would make this operation better. Rick mentioned the custom trailer
could cost up to $2000. Jeff mentioned he talked with Harry on the use of an ATV. Harry said he's
finacially strapped and couldn't help at this time. He was however going to check with Polaris
and see if they could wrk something out to help. Mike brought up that he is trying to sell his
walking greens mowers and there would be some money left over to buy Mary a beverage cart.
The committee said thanks for the offer and decided the small trailer would be sufficent this
year.
Meeting relocated to Library
New Business:
1) Budget Priorities for 1996-1997:
Mike said in a recent conversation with Gary Shimun that City Council wants him to plan a new
maintenance facility in the new budget. Mike also brought up some equipment that will need to
be purchased for next season. Chairperson Whiteman asked Mike to make a list of new purchases
for the next meeting. Mike also informed the committee of what was out to bid and that it should
come under budget but had a couple of items that will take him up to $100,000.
Meeting adjourned to City Council Meeting on irrigation system.
Back on record Chairperson Whiteman said thank you to the committee for showing support
of the irrigation system. Had long discussion on judicial confirmation procedures.
Old Business:
1) Reviewed cost estimate from Kuhn Assoc. on irrigation System.
2) Reviewed City Council feedback on Golf Course Rules, Dress Code, and other Issues:
They had concern of age for driving golf carts, Carl already discussed that with Gary Shimun
it is do to insurance. The Council has no problem with the dress code this time around.
City Council was wondering how speed of play would be handled- Carl said he was bringing
two(2) more marshalls on board. Mike commented he would find some radios for better
communication. Mike also said that carts will be allowed to drive on the fairways using the 90
degree rule and it shouldn't be a problem. Jeff mentioned the starter should notify the golfers
when they tee off the time limits. The committee said they are in full support of inforcing the speed
of play.
3) Minimum Water Project:
Chairperson Whiteman brought his concern that the pumps weren't VFD. The committee was
under the impression that is what we were going to get. The committee's concerns will be brought
up at a meeting with T-O (Rich Kinder), Ted Whiteman, Mike Combs, Bill Keating and Gary
Shimun. Mike said that Masco would be up the first of next week.
Staff Report:
1) Mike said he had disscussed some possible procedures on rectifying #7 with Pete O'Neil.
The rest of the Cedar course is in pretty good shape. Aspen and Birch Are looking great and we are
looking for more employees to hire.
2) Carl said his new Pro Shop configuration worked out great the first weekend and that
everything is going smoothly so far.
Jeanne Campbell aske d Mike if there is possibillity of building a new tee box for the women
on #17 and he said yes. She also mentioned a welcoming party at the Club House for Mike
and Heather on May 29 at 5 to 7 pm
The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be June 19 at 7:OOpm in the Club House
