HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 02:052No. 02-52 ( arierei, Date of Adoption APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #1 DIAMOND CONSTRUCTION - WASHINGTON AVENUE BUSINESS DISTRICT IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously entered into a contract with Diamond Construction for the Washington Avenue Business District [mprovements Project in an original contract bid amount of $74,753.35, Contract No.: 01-10; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T&M Associates, has advised the Governing Body that a modification to said contract is necessary to allow for the addition of an item for the removing and blocking up of certain basement access doors and to allow for reductions in the amount of concrete sidewalk and the resetting of certain basement access doors; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer has advised the Governing Body that said modification was unforeseen at the time of the preparation of plans and specifications and the bidding for the project; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer has recommended that the contract with Diamond Construction be modified in accordance with Change Order No. I (See attached Change Order), providing for a net reduction in the original contract in the amount of $21.50; and WHEREAS, the Governing Body has reviewed Change Order No. 1 and the recommendation of the Borough Engineer. NO. 07-52-- PAGE__ 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. Contract Change Order No. 1, attached hereto and made a part hereof, resulting in a net decrease of $21.50 in the overall contract price, resulting in a revised contract price of $74,731.85, is hereby approved. 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1. 3. A copy of this Resolution and a fully executed copy of Change Order No. 1 be forwarded to T&M Associates for distribution to Diamond Construction. Adopted this 7th day of February, 2002 and certified as a true copy of the original on February 8, 2002. KATHLEEN M.
