BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 22 (Parking, Stopping and Standing), Article VI (Snow Routes) of the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended as follows: ARTICLE VI. SNOW PRIORITY AND EMERGENCY AREA ROUTES, S~IO'.V EMERGENCIES, ETC. Sec. 22-146. Snow priority and emergency area routes. A. Snow priority and emergency area routes shall be streets or portions of streets designated by ordinance. These streets shall receive priority treatment during winter storms Rermal sRew operations,-and emergency areas, which for purpose of this article shall include disasters, excessive snow/ice storms, or other general emergencies declared by Federal or State authorities or those declared by the Mayor. These streets shall be readily identifiable by sign designation. B. C. No person shall stop, stand, park, or abandon a vehicle in a manner which obstructs or impedes traffic on a snow priority or emergency area route during a sRew emergeRey winter storm operations or an emergency where street clearing is required. In order to aid in the city effort to remove impediments to traffic from the street area during a winter storm or emergency, the City Administrator, or his designee, is authorized to temporarily remove parking from associated work areas. Work areas will be signed and posted eight (8) hours prior to removal efforts if possible. Any vehicle obstructing the work shall be considered an abandoned motor vehicle and the Police Department shall be authorized to remove the vehicle from utilizing the same procedures found in section 22-31 of the city code. Enforcement.
