A RESOLUTION OF THE RICHLAND HILLS CITY
COUNCIL FOR THE PURPOSE OF AGREEING TO
EXECUTE THE DETAILS OF THE TPWD CO-OP GRANT
AS STIPULATED BY TPWD
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills has a goal of meeting the recreation needs for the
community at the Link -Event and Recreation Center and at other outdoor facilities; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Link is to bring the community together and promote an
evolved level in quality of life with programs in education, fitness, recreation, the arts and sports. Its
events and facilities will offer residents, businesses and visitors opportunities that are balanced in high
quality service and experience; and
WHEREAS, the vision of the Link is to be an avenue for improved quality of life that fosters
a sense of community. It will be a regional hub for recreational programming and hosting events that
will be a benchmark for others to model; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has a goal of recovering 75% of the operating costs of the Link
by establishing creative and alternative programming at the facility for residents and non-resident and
by generating and finding new revenue opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has made available and offered state
financial aid monies for the purposed funding of an Outdoor Recreation Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills wishes to participate in the aforementioned state
reimbursement grant with no matching funds needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS,
TEXAS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Richland Hills does hereby formally authorize to sign this Resolution of support to apply
for and if awarded, execute a grant with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the Outdoor
Recreation Program.
IT IS SO RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND
HILLS, TEXAS ON THE 17th DAY OF JANUARY, 2017.
