AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY OF THE TERRITORY KNOWN AND
DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION NO. 5 -A NORTH-
EAST TEMPLE CITY, UNINHABITED
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Temple City did
on the 10th day of July, 1562, send a copy of the proposed boundaries
of Annexation No. 5 -A to the Los Angeles County Boundary Commission.
That said territory proposed to be annexed t:o said City of Temple
City is situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
and is uninhabited territory.
That the City Council duly assembled at a recular meeting of said
Council held on the 10th day of September, 1562, 'passed Resolution No.
6.2 -234, wherein the City on its own motion initiated proceedings to
annex Annexation No. 5 -A, and did find that said territory in said
Annexation No. 5 -A did not form a part of any municipal corporation,
and did find that said territory is contiguous to the City of Temple
City and is uninhabited territory.
That on said 10th day of September, 1962, at a regular meeting of
said Council of the City of Temple City, Resolution No. 62 -234 was duly
adopted and approved, specifically describing the boundaries of the
territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Temple City and de-
signating such territory as Annexation No. 5 -A, and giving notice of
such annexation and fixing the 22nd day of October, l62, at the hour
of 8 :00 P. M., at the regular meeting place of the City Council at the
City Hall, 9664 E. Las Tunas Drive, Temple City, California, as the day .
hour and place for hearing of written protests to said annexation and
when and where any person owning real property within such territory
so proposed to be annexed and having objections to the proposed annexa-
tion might appear before the City Council of the City of Temple City
and present written objections to the annexation of said,territory to
the City of Temple City, and directing the City Clerk to post a copy
of this Resolution in at least three conspicuous places within the
territory proposed to be annexed and further directing the City Clerk
to cause a copy of Resolution No. 62 -234 to be published at least
twice, but not more often than once a week in the Temple City Times,
a newspaper of general circulation published within the City of Temple
City, and further directing that said posting and publication be com-
pleted at least twenty (20) days prior to the date or Hearing above
mentioned.
Said Resolution further directed the City Clerk of the City of
Temple City to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll avail-
able on the date the proceedings .were initiated, at the address shown on
said assessment roil or as known to said City Clerk, and tr_ any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands ih
which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said City
Clerk; and that in the event that land within the territory propsed to
be annexed to the City of Temple City is owned by a County, that the
City Clerk shall cause written notice of such proposed annexation to
be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County, and directing
that such notice be given not less than twenty (20) days before the
first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
That on the hour, day and at the place specified in. said Resolu-
tion No. 62 -234, to -wit: on the 22nd day of October, 1962, at 8 :00
P. M. at the regular meeting place of the City Council of the City of
Temple City, California, the City Council of the City of Temple City
did meet and assemble to hear all protests filed or received up to the

hour of 8 :00 P. M., on said date. The City Council closed the protest
hearing. The City Council thereupon made the finding that there were
no protests filed, and that all the requirements of the Resolution had
been performed.
SECTION 2. That the annexation of the territory included within
the boundaries of Annexation Nc. 5 -A, and more particularly described
below, is as follows:
That parcel of land in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, included within the following described boundary:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 4 of Tract No. 18002 as
shown on map recorded in Book 441, pages 38 and 3:; of Maps in the of-
fice of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California; thence
southerly along the easterly line of said lot, 131.97 feet to the nor-
therly• line of Wendon Avenue (50 feet wide) as shown on map of said
Tract; thence easterly along said northerly line of ,%'endon Avenue 60.00.
feet; thence northerly along a line that is parallel with said easterly
line of Lot 4, 132 feet to the northerly line of Lot 4 of Block "O" of
the Santa Anita Land Company's Tract as shown on a map recorded in
Book 6, rage 137 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said
County; thence westerly along last mentioned northerly line to the
Point of Beginning.
SECTION 3. That pursuant to Section 35305 of the Government Code
of the State of California, the City of Arcadia has by their Resolution
No. 3508 adopted by the Arcadia City Council on August 7, 1962, consent
ed to the detachment from the City of Arcadia of the above described
property and proposed annexation to the City of Temple City.
Said description is hereby approved and said territory is hereby
annexed to and incorporated in the City of Temple City, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and is hereby designated as Annexation
5 -A to the City of Temple City.
SECTION 4. That from and after the .effective date of this Ordi-
nance and the filing of a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of
State of California, the annexation of the territory herein described
shall be deemed to be and shall be complete and thenceforth such an-
nexed territory shall be, to all intents and purposes, a part of the
City of Temple City, and from and after the effective date of such
annexation, all property therein shall be subject to taxation equally
with the property within the City of Temple City.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days
after passage and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days shall be
posted in three public places in the City of Temple City, together
with the names of the City Council voting for and against the same.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the City Council of%the City of
Temple City this 12th day of November , 1962.
