AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL;,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY

WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36=1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or
any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City
`=executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of
Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an o'rdinance,-.for'the ,
appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has funding available
through its Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department has submitted or will submit a grant
application to obtain federal funds that will be used to purchase one (1) 100 foot
aerial platform truck; and
WHEREAS, A ten percent (10%) local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has submitted or will submit a
grant application and the City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an
amount up to One Million Dollars and Zero Cents ($1,000,000.00).
2. The City of Richmond, Indiana is providing the match of up to One Hundred
Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($100,000.00) (10% of the total grant amount of
$1,000,000.00) as required for said grant.
3. Said grant funding shall be used to purchase one (1) 100 foot aerial platform truck.

Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
