HomeMy Public PortalAboutGAC Minutes 1995 11/08t' ~J GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 8, 1995 GOLF CLUBHOUSE ATTENDING: Rick VanNoy, Jeff Goodman, Jeane Campbell, Carl Hoss Vice-Chairman VanNoy called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Ted Whiteman and Phil Gilman were absent while all other members were present. Whiteman had a previously scheduled meeting. Chairman Jeff Goodman moved that the minutes of the October 11, 1995, meeting be~approved as presented. Jeane Campbell seconded and the motion carried. '~ NEW BUSINESS: 1. Contract Review - The contract and salary agreement of the golf pro, Carl Hoss, was discussed. Professional Hoss's salary has not been increased the past four (4) years and with the addition of the new nine hole course next year, it is the committee's position that an increase of $4,500 per year be added to his present salary, of $34,500. Jeff.Goodman made the motion to recommend that Carl Hoss's salary be increased $4,500 for the coming 1996 season. Jeane Campbell seconded and the motion carried. 2. Clubhouse Upgrade - Jim Galloway presented his plans and ideas for the upgrade and addition of air conditioning to the present Clubhouse heating system. After discussion, Mr. Galloway will submit next week, proposal for the following work: A. Addition of two (2) 5 ton heat pumps to make the heating more efficient while adding air conditioning to the system. B. Extend the present duct work to provide an efficiently balanced system. C. Convert the two (2) grills over the kitchen hood to "make-up" air systems. Note: Additional electrical work will be needed, so a proposal will be sought for that portion of the work. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Golf Course Construction - Discussion of the construction impact of the water system across the golf course is of real concern to the Committee. These areas have been video taped. Also concern about settlement of some trenching across the course, leads the Committee to suggest that partial payment be withheld until satisfactory completion of the these areas. 2. Position Vacancy - The new superintendent position was discussed and updated. No action has been taken so far. The Committee members would like to thank Craig Collins for his work in the absence of a superintendent. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:50 P.M. Lew Golde, their head golf professional, repol~s 10,000 1995 rounds verses 1,000 1994 rounds, an increase of 9,000 rounds played. This affected not unly our number orr#roads played, but season pass sales, and decreases in McCall Men's and Women's Golf Associations' membership numbers. Carl M. Potential golf course revenue was affected as follows: 161 WD rounds ~ $ l 1.00 vs. $19.00 = $1,288.00; 250 WE rounds ~ $13.00 vs. $23.00 = $2,500.00 for a total of $3,788.00 during the remainder of October 1995. Our nearest competition, Meadow Creek Golf & Field Club of New Meadows, was closed to public play in 1994 and reopened to public play as of 1995.
