J� #22-190 Date of Adoption September 8, 2022 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH APRUZZESE, McDERMOTT, MASTRO & MURPHY WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized legal services; and WHEREAS, Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro & Murphy ("Apruzzese") possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and WHEREAS, Apmuese has submitted a response to a Request for Qualifications demonstrating its experience and professional expertise in said area; and WHEREAS, the Borough's Law Director has reviewed said response and has recommended that Appruzzese be awarded a contract to perform the required legal services; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: I. That the recommendation of the Borough's Law Director is hereby accepted and Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro & Murphy is hereby awarded a contract to perform said specialized professional legal services in an initial amount not to exceed $50,000. 2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to the Borough's Fair and Open Process as provided for and in accordance with applicable law. 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and the Borough's Law Director for distribution to Appruzzese, McDermott, Mastro & Murphy.
