AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH T&M ASSOCIATES -
HILL DISTRICT STORM WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized engineering
services in connection with the preparation of a planning document
(Environmental Information Document (ELD)) for the proposed Storm
Water Improvement Project for the Hill District Area; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, Donald J. Norbut, P.E.,
C.M.E., of T&M Associates, possesses the requisite skill and expertise to
provide said services; and
WHEREAS, Donald T. Norbut, P.E., C.M.E. has submitted a proposal to
provide said engineering services at a total cost not to exceed $56,590.00;
and
WHEREAS, T&M Associates has provided additional specialized
engineering services for the hydrology and hydraulic analyses and
calculations for the Hill District Project in the amount of $6,700.00; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have reviewed said proposal;
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will
be available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as
follows:
1. The proposal from Donald T. Norbut, P.E., C.M.E. of T&M
Associates for engineering services related to the
preparation of a Planning Document and Environmental
Assessment for the Hill District Storm Water Improvement
Project, including a provision of hydrology and hydraulic
analyses and calculations, in the total amount of $63,290.00
billable in accordance with T&M's existing contract with the
Borough is hereby approved;
2. Annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal;
3. This action is approved as an award of a professional
services contract pursuant to N..1.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a). A
notice of this award shall be advertised as required by law.
