SEWER USER FEE CANCELLATION
WHEREAS, Sewer a/c#5328-17, Block 2903, Lot I, also known as 773D Roosevelt
Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey, has requested a review of the 2022 sewer user fee in
accordance with Borough Code 204-21 Review of Charges; and
WHEREAS, the water consumption obtained from the water company showed a
substantial increase in water consumption which resulted in the 2022 billing to be
$7,692.72;and
WHEREAS, prior sewer annual billing for this property was billed at the minimum
office retail establishment rate as follows:
2010 thru 2018 $900.00 per year
2019 $ 925.00 per year
2020 $ 1,000.00 per year
2021 $ 1,050.00 per year; and
WHEREAS, the taxpayer stated that thb water consumption for this year was due to a
possible water leak after the meter, and not necessarily for water that entered into the
sewage system; and
WHEREAS, the Tax Collection Office is recommending that the bill for 2022 be
recalculated and charged $1,000.00 per each half year for a total of $2,000.00 for
2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, that the Tax Collector revise the
2022 billing to reflect an adjustment to the water consumption as shown above
effective I/l/2022.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be provided to
the Tax Collector.
