from his offical duties, that Morris Slotin, as Acting Mayor,
be authorized to sign and /or countersign checks against ehe
several accounts of said Town in the several banks in the city
of Savannah, Georgia
Councilman Farrell moved thpt the following resolution
be•adopted. Councilman seconded, the motion passed.
.RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, on the llth day of March, 1944, Morris Slotin,
Acting Mayor and/or Mayer Pro Tem, authorized Henry M. Buckley,
Clerk of Council, to write_a letter to the F. W. A. requesting
elimination of and substituting certain streets, with 8
sewer lines under Project No Ga. 9- 244 -NF, and also show
justifaction for certain lines of streets not included in
original application..
WHEREAS on March llth, M. R. Young, as Chairman of the
Sanitary Sewerage Committee certified tht the above mention-
ed letter, dated March 11, 1944, which included said list of
streets, had been checked., and the Committee recommended that
the changes requested be made according to said list and let-
ter certifying as to this need.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen
of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, in Coun-
cil assembled, that the actions of the said Morris Slotin,
Acting Mayor and /or Mayor Pro Tem, and the said Mitchell R.
Young, as Chairman. of the Sewerage Committee, in signing a
letter dated the llth'day of March, 1944, to the Federal
Works Agency authorizing the J. G. Attaway Construction
Company th change the location of nines, etc., be and the
same is herby approved.
There being no further business Cou i1 adjourned, sub-

A special meeting of Council was held today at 5 :00 P.M.
and was attended by Mayor Dutton, who presided, and Councilmen
Walsh, Hosti, Farrell, and Young.
The meeting was called for the purpose of:
1. To pass a resolution authorizing additional sewer
lines and grant J. G. Attaway Company an extension of 75
days to complete said lines.
2. Discuss the services of G. R. Vinson, Town Engineer, and
consider whether to continue him in the employ of the town.
3. Consider and pass on any and all matters concerning the
completion of the sewer system.
The matter of the monthly fee paid Mr. G. R. Vinson for en-
gineering services was discussed and it was the opinion of Coun-
cil that there was no further need of Mr. Vinson services.
Councilman Walsh moved that Mr. Vinson's services be terminated
as of March 31, 1944. Councilman Young seconded and the motion
passed.
Councilman Young moved the following resolution be adopted.
Councilman Hosti seconded, motion passed.
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, on the 21st day of February, 1944, at a special
meeting of Council, a resolution was passed authorizing a change
order on-Project No Ga. 9 -244 NF for additional sewer lines and
and extension of seventy -five (75) days to the J. G. Attaway
Construction Company to complete the additional contract; and
WHEREAS, THE Federal Works Agency has approved the change'
above referred to;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen
of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, in
Council assembled, that they accept the change order from the
Federal Works Agency on Project No. Ga. 9P244 -NF for additional
sewer lines as set forth in a resolution passed by the Mayor an d
Councilmen of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia,
on the 21st day of February, 1944, and that the said J. G. Atta-
way Construction Company be given an extension of seventy -five
(75) days to complete the additional contract in accordance with
the list of said additional sewer lines and cost break down for
the installation fo the said sewer lines as attached to'the
resolution passed on Fehruary.21, 1944, this extension of seven-
ty -five -(75) days, however, is only to cover this additional
work as outlines in the resolution of February 21, 1944, and does
not alter the original or supplemental contract between the
MunicipalSty and the J. G. Attaway Construction Company as to the
time to complete said contract. -
