AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH T&M ASSOCIATES - CARTERET
LANDFILL RECLAMATION REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized
engineering services in connection with the preparation of Site Plan and
Base Mapping and other engineering services for the Carteret Landfill
Reclamation Redevelopment Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, Donald J. Norbut,
P.E., C.M.E., of T&M Associates, possesses the requisite skill and
expertise to provide said services; and
WHEREAS, Donald T. Norbut, P.E., C.M.E. has submitted a
proposal to provide said engineering services at a total cost not to exceed
$7,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has entered into a pre-development
agreement with Slayton Development, LLC, whereby Slayton
Development has agreed to reimburse the Borough's costs for the
professional services associated with the adoption of a Redevelopment
Plan and the potential execution and implementation of a Redevelopment
Agreement, establishing an escrow account for said purpose; and
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have reviewed said proposal;
WHEREAS, as a result of the funds provided pursuant to the Pre-
Development Agreement, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that
funds are or will be available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council
of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as
follows:
1. The proposal of T & M Associates for the specialized
engineering services related to the Carteret Landfill
Reclamation Redevelopment Project in the total amount not
to exceed $7,500.00 is hereby approved;
2. Annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal;
3. This action is approved as an award of a professional
services contract. Adopted this 7th day of February, 2002 and
cert~iod as a true copy of the original on
February 8, 2002.
