RESOLVED FURTHER THAT before this Resolution becomes
effective the said J. G. Attaway Construc_ ion Company will
acknowledge and agree to the terms ofthis Resolution.
Nominations were called for the election of a Town At-
torney, Councilman Young moved that A. Leopold Alexander be
elected Town Attorney for the remainder of the fiscal year
at 450.00 per month. louncilman Walsh seconded, the motion
passed.

April 3, 1944
, A special meeting of Council was held today at 6 :00 P.M.
and was attended by Mayor Dutton, who presided, and Council-
men Hosti, Young, Lovell, and Walsh.
The meeting was called for the purpose of:
1. Adopt a resolution certifying the returns of the
managers in the general election held on April 3, 1944.
Codncilman Lovell moved that the following resolution
be adopted. Councilman Hosti seconded, motion passed.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the managers duly named by Resolution passed
by the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Savannah Beach, T
Tybee Island, Georgia, in Council assembled, on the ,
day of March, 1944, to conduct the election just concluded
and held on this the 3rd day of April, 1944, at Savannah
Beach, Tybee Island, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and
six (6) Councilmen, three (3) of whom shall be bona fide

residents and domiciled within the corporate limits of

Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and three (3) of whom shall be
bona fide residents and domicled in Chatham County, outside of the
Corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and .
who shall own property at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, to hold
office until the first Monday in April, 1946, or until their succ-
essors have heen duly elected and qualified, have made the consoli-
dated returns and /or results to the Mayor and Councilmen calling
said election, which consolidation was done in the presence of and
together with the several managers; and
WHEREAS, it appears that EDWARD A. Dutton received the highest
number of votes for Mayor of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Is-
land; and
WHEREAS, JOEL T: FARRELL, BENNO P. HOSTI and MITCHELL R. YOUNG
received the ,highest number of votes for Councilmen of the Town of
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, who are-bona fide residents and
domiciled within the corporate limits of the Town of Savannah Beach,
Tybee Island, and WILLIAM S. LOVELL, MORRIS SLOTIN and CHARLES V.
WALSH received the highest number of votes for Councilmen of the
Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, who are bona fide residents
and domiciled in Chatham Count, outside the corporate limits of the
Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee eland, and who own property at
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen of the
Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in Council assembled, and it
is hereby resolved by the authority of the same that the result of
said election be and the same is hereby declared as electing:
EDWARD A. DUTTON as Mayor
JOEL T. FARRELL as Councilman
BENNO P. HOSTI as Councilman
MITCHELL R. YOUNG as Councilman
WILLIAM S. LOVELL as Chairman
MORRIS SLOTIN as Councilman
CHARLES V. WALSH as Councilman
for the Town of Savannah Beach,. Tybee Island, to hold office until
the first Monday in April, 1946, or until their successors are
elected and duly qualified; said results appearing from the returns
of said election managers, which said returns are hereby adopted
and made a part hereof.
