MINUTES
November 2, 1994
Attending: Ted Whiteman
Frank Brown
Jeff Goodman
Charles Denham
Jim Henderson
Judy Barkley
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:
Chairman Whiteman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Rick
VanNoy was absent while all other committee members were present.
MINUTES:
Frank Brown moved that the minutes from the October 5 meeting be
approved as written. The date reads September 14, but it should
read October 5.
OLD BUSINESS:
1) Review Question List
The committee read the questions in numerical order and answered
each one to the best of their knowledge. Jim Henderson attended
to offer some assistance in questions directed toward the city.
Chairman Whiteman will provide written answers to the three
people who presented the questions.
2) Treasure Valley Women's Amateur
Chairman Whiteman conducted a telephone poll of the rest of the
committee. The purpose was to ratify the dates for the
tournament. The committee as a whole was favorable to the dates
of July 10, 11, and 12.
****Frank Brown moved to recommend to the city council to approve
July 10, 11, and 12 as the dates for the Treasure Valley Women's
Amateur. Judy Barkley seconded. Motion carried.
3) Irrigation Engineer R.F.P.
Denham reported that he had received one proposal so far. It is
from C. H. Kuhn and Associates out of Seattle, Washington. The
deadline for proposals is November 10. Committee will look at
this again next agenda.
4) Long Term Maintenance Agreement S.M.R.
The committee was presented with an outline of the long term
maintenance agreement between the city and S.M.R. After
discussion two items in the agreement were of concern. One was
in #5 Maintenance of the Addition, second item retaining walls,
ballwashers, etc. The committee wondered if S.M.R. was providing
ballwashers since the city is expected to maintain them. Also, #6
Standards of Play, last item pertaining to etiquette, states the
city should conduct "reasonable course hours to allow homeowner
privacy". These hours should be stated or the line should be
stricken from the agreement. If the hours are stated the city
needs to be agreeable to them.
NEW BUSINESS:
1) Chipping Green Practice Area
The Men's Association is interested in constructing a practice
green area near the new 9. There are some wetlands issues that
need to be looked into.
2) Reports from Men's and Women's Associations
Frank Brown and Judy Barkley presented the outcome of their
respective association meetings. Common issues from both were
the surcharge and the patio furniture at the clubhouse. The
Men's Association suggested that a profit and loss printout be
posted in the clubhouse. Also they wanted to know what the
status is of the cart storage adjacent to the maintenance shop.
The committee suggested that city staff attend the next meeting
to elaborate on the subject.
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 9:25 P.M.
Respectfully Submitted,
