SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Library Board of Trustees advocates for the library and literacy, hires and evaluates the Library Director, monitors overall effectiveness of the library as a social institution
and sets library policies and strategic goals to better serve the community. Trustees are volunteers who serve for a term of five years. This opening comes to replace Mr. Ed Hershberger,
who has retired and is moving out of city limits after many years of service to our community. Library Trustees are recommended for appointment by current board members and appointed
by the City Manager and City Council. Attached are 4 letters of interest: Karen Broyles, Patrick Coyle, Robert Frank, and Tanya Hansen. The Library Board votes on October 22, 2020 to
recommend a new library trustee appointment and will provide that recommendation at the Council’s October 23 meeting. The Board would like Council to consider approving the new member
at the October 23 meeting so the new member can participate at the joint City Council/Library Board work session on October 30.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Appoint ________________ to the McCall Public Library Board of Trustees for a term to expire October 2026.
