SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Parks and Recreation Department has fulfilled the requirements set by the Arbor Day Foundation to again qualify as a Tree City USA. In addition, the Parks Department and Public Works
Department have completed numerous projects that qualify for a growth award in conjunction with the Tree City USA application process. It is the departments goal to utilize the trees
planted as part of the Downtown Core Phase 2B construction project, advanced urban forest management training by Eddie Heider, and the departments new tree pruning maintenance program
as projects for points towards another growth award in 2020.
The Tree City USA and Growth Award applications and Tree City USA signature page are attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Tree City USA and Growth Award applications and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
