AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
ADOPTING AN INTERIM ORDINANCE IN CONFORMITY
WITH GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 65806 ESTAB-
LISHING AN INTERIM ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THAT
CERTAIN AREA LYING BETWEEN CLOVERLY AVE. ON
THE WEST, TEMPLE CITY BLVD. ON THE EAST, LAS
TUNAS BLVD. ON THE SOUTH, AND WOODRUFF AVE.
ON THE NORTH,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council are
presently conducting studies of that certain area lying between
Cloverly Ave. on the west, Temple City Blvd. on the east, Las
Tunas Blvd. on the south and Woodruff Ave. on the north, here-
inafter sometimes referred to as the "Subject Area," to aid in
the holding of public hearings for the purpose of adopting a zoning
ordinance respecting the Subject Area, as a part of the proposed
adoption of a master plan for Temple City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council will within 90 days of the
effective date of this ordinance conduct public hearings to determine
the zoning to be applied to the Subject Area hereinbefore described.
SECTION 2: The City Council received as of August 16, 1963,
a "Report on Proposed. Comprehensive General Plan" from its Planning
Consultants Gordon and Brysis N. Whitnall, which report requires ex-
tensive consideration including the holding of hearings before the
Planning Commission and City Council prior to adoption.
SECTION 3: Pursuant to Section 65806 of the Government Code,
the City Council finds that it is necessary, to protect the public
safety, health and welfare, that this ordinance be adopted as an
emergency measure and as such this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
SECTION 4: Pursuant to said Section 65806 of the Government,,
Code, the zoning of the Subject Area is hereby zoned as shown upon
the map attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof
as though set forth in full. The zoning as shown upon Exhibit "A"
shall remain in full force and effect for three months from the
effective date of this ordinance or for such shorter period as shal'i
be determined upon by the City Council. In the event the City Counci:
shall fail to rezone the Subject Area prior to the end of ninety days
from the effective date of this ordinance, the zoning heretofore
applicable shall apply.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of August, 1963.
