Councilmen present: Barry, Borgmeyer, Gordon, Manes, McDowell, Ortmeyer, Whitecotton and Wildhaber. ! Councilmen absent: Brant and Hager. A quorum was declared absent . }� The Special Council Meeting was called to pass an Ordinance awarding the contract for new Fire Station No. 1. Bill No. 129, introduced by Councilmen Gordon, Wildhaber, !Bill 129. Borgmeyer, McDowell, Hager, Barry and Ortmeyer, entitled: "Contract "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, authorizing the with Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Jefferson to execute a �'Curtiss- contract for the construction and erection of Fire Station No. 1 at ' Manes High and Bolivar Streets with Curtiss-Manes Construction, Inc. , of Constr. , Eldon, Missouri." ;Inc. Read first and second time by title and on motion of Council- man Borgmeyer, the rules were suspended and the Bill was read the fj third time by title and placed on final passage and was passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 8834: Councilmen voting Aye: Barry, Borgmeyer, Gordon, Manes, McDowell, Ortmeyer, Whitecotton and Wildhaber. Councilmen voting Nay: None. Councilmen absent: Brant and Hager. �j t Councilman Brant arrived at the meeting. - - - - - - - - - - Mayor Hyder asked permission to take up an additional matter at }4 the Special Meeting. There was no objection. r, Mayor Hyder stated that Judge Kinder had informed him that there would be about lk acres of land after the construction of Stadium !; Drive, on Russell Street, which they would like for the location oft: the Juvenile Attention Center. They have received $50,000 grant from LEA for planning the building but it has to be used before September. Councilman Borgmeyer said that he was not opposed to the idea, !: but would like to have a Public Hearing with all people involved. Councilman Wildhaber said that he thought some of the houses were supposed to be relocated on the vacant land. Councilman Brant suggested the old swimming pool location on Chestnut Street, and also City owned land at Adams and McCarty Streets . t� After much discussion, it was decided to have a Public Hearing; at a Special Council Meeting, to be held at 8:00 P.M. , April 19th. Councilman Borgmeyer moved that the Council adjourn, under the jAdjournment rules . Motion passed. f� i I�
