A Special Council Meeting was held on May 18, 1965, in the
Council Chambers with Mayor John G. Christy presiding.
Councilmen present were: Mr. Riner, Mr. Van Loo, Mr. Haake, Drit
Skain, Mr. Stone, Mr. Willcoxon and Mr. Hawes.
Mayor Christy explained that the only item to be discussed
was Section "B" of the Annexation May and the rules would be Fj
enforced as to the discussion.

Mr. Rackers, Director of Public Works distributed copies of the Annexation
boundaries of Section "B" and the property involved. IMeeting.
Section "B"
Mr. Wade Baker, 1700 Southwest Blvd. , served as spokesman for the
property owners in Section "B". The following questions were asked
i: in regard to annexation:
1. What plans have the City formulated in regard to the ser-
vices to rendered in the annexed area and the time element involved
ii 2. What time schedule had been set up for the sewerage system,
to the area?
3. Would water districts be allowed to continue?
4. What plans have the School Board made in regard to the
School Bus situation?
5. Would the City Street Department maintain the streets in
,i the same manner as the Special Road District?
ii 6. What zoning Laws would be in effect in the annexed area.
1 . Would the annexed area be represented on the City CouncilT
i" Mr. Hawes, Chairman of the Annexation Committee and Mr. Rackers
answered as to the projected plans of the City in the annexed area. .
Eight new patrolmen and 2 new police cars would be added immediately,
also, a new substation for the Fire Department, new pumper truck
and personel would be added immediately. The Street Department
would be enlarged to meet the situation in the best possible manner,.
Water district would be allowed in the annexed area. Mr. Rackers
stated that the City was in the best possible position now to
service the area with trunk lines for sewerage. Zoning laws would
be studied for the annexed area. The School Board has not given
any plans as to the School Bus situation. Mayor Christy stated that;
the new residents would be placed in Wards immediately after
annexation.
