Motion made by Councilman Whitecotton that Police Chief be lyinance authorized to send an Officer to attend the Survival and Internal ;Committee Security Course, at a cost of $526.00, of which $500.00 would be iReport. reimbursed to the City, leaving a total cost of $26.00 to the City, Motion carried. Miss Carolyn McDowell, Chairwoman, St. Lighting Committee, Jefferson City Council, Jefferson City, Mo. Dear Miss McDowell: We have your request of October 6, 1975, regarding new street light installations and a request to install a shield on an existing' light. Considering the requests in order, we recommend: 380. 1. We do not wish to install a shield on the light in the rear ofj 710 W. McCarty Street. The light in question is a private !� light and is projecting over private property from the pole ate' the alley. The alley is midway between McCarty St. and High 11 St. and the light is approximately 150 feet to the rear of ' 710 W. McCarty St. We do not see a need for a shield. 2. Install two (2) 6800 luman lights in the 2900 block of Sue Drive, one on the pole across from 2908 Sue Drive and one on 1 the pole across from 29x6 Sue Drive. 3. High Street . f Report. Thomas Benton, Chairman, presided, with the following present: ' Fred Rost, Jr. , Secretary, Fred Bode, Hadley Irwin, Tony Weber, �! Dick Preston, Pierre Dominique, Bert Koester and Richard Caplinger. I Councilmen Barry and Gordon were unable to attend due to City 11 - Council Finance Meeting. 'Pony Weber was in attendance at the last meeting, but his name was omitted from the roll . j 1) Request from Carl and Bernardene Lll6worth to rezone Lots 29 and 30 in Dawson's Subdivision, of Outlots 53 and 54 (209 Benton Street) from its present status of Two Family Dwelling to Multiple Dwelling. Due to error in application, applicants '; were in agreement with Chairman Benton to table the request until the next meeting. �I 2) Request from Dr. and Mrs . Leon Taylor and Mr. and Mrs . Herbert E. Walz to rezone property located at 1100 and 1.104 West Main Street from its present status of "RA" Multiple Dwelling to i "RS" 1 . After discussion, it was moved and seconded all property North of Main Street in the 1100 block be rezoned from "RA" Multiple Dwelling to "RS" 1 . Motion carried. Motion passed. r ;The following report of the Parking Authority was presented to the `! Council: i ;The Parking Authority met at 7:30 A.M. , Friday, October 3, 1975, with all members present. } 1. On a motion by Schulte, and seconded by Czarlinsky, the Parking .;Authority decided to take over a portion of lot 15 from the Housingi,' Authority :;Authority. The Authority would take over the rest of the lot next ` Report . ; spring. The Housing Authority is presently experiencing drainage ; problems with the lot. 2. On a motion by Rackers and seconded by Borgmeyer, the ::Bittersweet Garden Club will take over the beautification of the i .; slope on lot 3 at Club 's expense. Plans are to landscape the slopeli in possibly a red, white and blue color. 3. The following changes were approved in construction of the �l i top level'; $600.00 to grout the Parking Authority Office. $220.00 to caulk the back wall of the Garage. $700.00 to curb top floor in the middle. 3. The Authority voted to get bids for the repair of the old ++� ortion of the Garage. R. F. Verslues said that as much as i! � p$85,000 would be necessary to repair the old structure, this (� iiincludes sandblasting, painting and patching on the floors and beams . 381. 4. A rate increase was considered necessary, but was held ,'over until the next meeting for further consideration. 5. On a motion by Borgmeyer, Roy A. Scheperle Construction !,Co. will be charged a fee of $50.00 per month for the use of Lot .'No. 5. The Company is presently constructing the Missouri Chamber ljof Commerce building next to Lot 5. Parking 6. On a recommendation by Hartley, the Authority approved a ;Authority rate increase on 100 Madison St. from .05 per hour to .10 per hour. Report. The reason for this increase is because of the cost of new meters and the area is close to the downtown area. 7. The Authority failed to approve a request from 3-M Business, ;Products to change the meters on 200 E. McCarty St . from 5 hour to , two hour meters . The five hour meters prevent loading and unloading'; ;in front of their business . Rackers suggested they obtain a iloading zone for $60.00 per year. 8. John R. Motion passed. 83. vgular--Counc il-Meeting, Mayor Hyder explained that if the City qualifies the Federal Gover P mentthey will pay 80% of the maintenance costs and additional fundsl for purchase of new buses , however, the City is required to submit a plan. Marvin Gillock, Chairman of the Transit Authority, stated that ';, there are local firms qualified to make the plan and a number of firms in the State. Mayor Hyder requested that Mr. Gillock consider a shuttle bus connection across the bridge. - - - - - - - - - - The following Resolution was introduced by Councilwoman McDowell.
