APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WTTH
CCMS-LTBRARYJSENTOR CITIZEN CENTER
WHEREAS, there exists the need for expert engineering services in the
Borough of Carteret's litigation against Serenity Inc. and its surety, the St.
Paul Mercury Insurance Company, over deficiencies in the construction of
the library/senior citizen center; and
WHEREAS, Consolidated Construction Management Services Corp.
(CCMS) possesses the possesses the requisite experience and expertise to
provide said expert engineering services; and
WHEREAS, CCMS has submitted a proposal setting forth a schedule of
hourly rates to be billed by members of its professional staff when
providing said expert services; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Attorney has recommended that the Governing
Body provide an authorization not to exceed $2,500.00 to engage CCMS
to provide expert engineering services with regard to the above
referenced litigation; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will
be available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. That a contract with Consolidated Construction
Management Services Corp., 29 State Highway 34, Suite
203, P.O. Box 236, Colts Neck, N_I 07722, to provide expert
engineering services in an amount not to exceed $2,500.00
is hereby approved.
2. This contract is made as an award of a professional
services contract.
3. A copy of this Resolution is to be forwarded to CCMS,
the Borough Attorney, and the Purchasing Department.
