Approval of ,tThe minutes of the meeting of May 21st were approved as received. Minutes 'A public hearing was held on the rezoning of Lot 1 of Knaebel 's Public ' Subdivision from RS-2 to RD Multiple Dwelling. Hearing. There was no opposition. .'Mayor Christy presented the names of Deputy Fire Chief Roy B. Hogg Appointment and Housing Inspector Oscar Douglas Hays to serve as Air Pollution Air Inspectors . Pollution °' Councilman Wildhaber moved that the appointments be approved. Appointment 1IMotion passed. Police Dept. 'iCouncilman Wildhaber, Chairman of the Street Committee, presented the following report: Street Street Committee Meeting Monday, June 4, 1973. All members Committee present and Ed Pope and Ed Rackers . Report. Committee recommends that the St. Louis Road Sewer Project ;` bid be accepted as bid. Committee recommends the hiring of Jim Karr for full time • employment with Street Department, and recommended the following as 1, part-time employees: Joe Clark, Leo McGruder, Gary Kuensting, 1David Hoeltzler and James Smith. Committee Members present - Councilmen Gordon, Ortmeyer, McDowell, and Fire Report. ; Chief Willmeno. Motion by Miss McDowell to purchase out of Bond Issue Monies: '` Two radio units - $1 200.00; Training Aids - $250.00; Small Tools - '1 $400.00; Clothing - 1,000.00; One automobile - $3,500.00; Two ;; water pumps - $800.00. One water pump to be purchased now, the 'lother when needed. All items not to exceed $7,150.00. Unanimously approved. !i Discussed also was Recorder for (Fire Alarms) Telephone. Rea ular_Council._Meeting.,_June--- _ 1913_x. _ Councilman Nacy, Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee, reported that he had conferred with officials of the Missouri Power,; Public & Light Company in regard to the lighting of Route "C" . They will Utilities check into the cost and use of existing facilities and meet with Committee the Committee next Thursday. - - - - - - - - - - Ways Councilwoman McDowell, Chairwoman of the Ways and Means Committee, and presented the following report: Means Ways and Means Committee met at 7: 30 o'clock, June 4th, at the Committee City Hall with all members present. Report Councilman Whitecotton moved not to accept the Management Services of Mr. John Graham. It was seconded by Councilman Ortmeyer and all members voted to not accept it . /s/ Carolyn McDowell, Chairwoman. Councilwoman McDowell moved that the report be approved. Motion passed. - - - - - - - - - - The following report of the Planning and Zoning Commission was presented to the Council: A special called meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission i was held Thursday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m. , in the City Council Chambe�l for the following purpose: li Planning Request from Raymond Brummett to approve preliminary plat and of Schellridge East Sub Division. Zoning The Commission recommend approval of the preliminary plat ;, Commission Further recommend that final plat be approved after all Report. recommendations of the Planning and Zoning Commission and !� the City Public Works office are properly shown on the plat . JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, That, Kansas Street, in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, shall be curb and guttered from Missouri Boulevard to St. Mary's Boulevard, including necessary paving and drainage facilities ; and ! that all of the above described work is necessary to be done. Motion i� passed. j - : The following Resolution was introduced: ; RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION WITH THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FOR A GRANT UNDER THE ; WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT, (P. L. 92-500) . WHEREAS, under the terms of the Water Pollution Control Act � (P.L.92-500) , the United States of America has authorized the making of grants to authorized applicants to aid in the construc- tion of specific public projects , NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by theCity Council of the City of Jefferson that John G. Motion passed. Councilman Wildhaber stated that there had been numerous complaints Obscene in regard to the showing of obscene movies . Movies . John Cooley appeared protesting the movies shown at Highway 50 Drive In. Councilman Wildhaber moved that the Council go on record that the j City Attorney enforce Section 8 of the Public Offense Code to the ! fullest extent... The motion passed by the following vote: Councilmen voting Aye: Barry, Borgmeyer, Gordon, Hager, McDowell, Nacy, Ortmeyer, Whitecotton, Wildhaber ands Woodman. Councilmen voting Nay: None. City !!
