Motion passed. j� - - - - - - - - - - Councilman Whitecotton, Chairman of the Police Department Committee presented the following report: The Police Department Committee met Monday, August 27, 1973, at Police 8:00 P.M. , in the Council Chambers . Present were Councilwoman 'Department McDowell, Councilmen Nacy and Whitecotton. Also present were Committee Arthur A. Roberts and Robert L. Day of the Lag Fire Protection Co. , Report. of Jefferson City, and Colonel Patton of the Jefferson City Policed' Department. !1 M 105, The purchase, specifications , quality and price of police ' uniforms were thoroughly discussed. Public Councilman Woodman, Chairman of the-Public Health Committee, Health presented the following report: Committee Report. A meeting of the Health Committee was held on August 27th, 1973, in the Council Chamber. Members present were Chairman Woodman, Councilmen Hager, Borgmeyer and Nacy. Dr. Nemer, City Physician, was not present. The topic of obtaining a new dogcatcher was discussed, to , replace Mr. Ralph Strope, whose services are thought to be unsatis- 1� ; factory. Motion by Mr. Borgmeyer that Mr. Strope be replaced as Iy !: soon as Dr. Nemer can find a suitable replacement. A new State law, concerning the disposal of trash, was discussed briefly. The Committee will meet next week, with repre- sentatives of the Dispose-All Service, to discuss these new � regulations as well as a new contract with the City. Respectfully submitted, Isl James W. Motion : passed. - - - - - - - - - - State ' Councilman Borgmeyer, Chairman of the State and City Relations and City Committee, reported that his Committee had met with the Transporta- Relatiors ; tion Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Hunter, Missouri, Committee ' State Highway Commission in regard to the construction of a second' , bridge across the Missouri River. - - - - - - - - - - Parking ,lThe following report of the Parking Authority was presented to the Authority , Council: Report.,? The Parking Authority met at 7: 30 p.m. , August 23, 1973, with the following members present: Messrs . Schulte, Czarlinsky, Riley, ' ! Hahn, Rackers , Herron, Hamacher, Hartley and Chairman Haake. The Authority took up the report by the Chairman Larry Haake, i in connection with the proposed revenue bond issue and the alternabE proposal calling for the outright purchase of the parking lots from the Housing Authority by the use of anticipated surplus funds. Mr. Ted Herron, Executive Secretary of the Housing Authority, stated that in his opinion it would be possible for the City to obtain an extension of its present rental contract for a period of five (5) years which would enable the Authority to accumulate an additional surplus during this time. Mr. Herron further went into detail in connection with the parking structures which would be 1 j part of the Capitol West Redevelopment Project. He is to advise within two (2) weeks if the proposed extension can be authorized by the HUD office. The Parking Authority also wishes to extend an invitation to members of the Mayor's Environmental Commission to be present at our next meeting and likewise, the President of the Downtown '! Businessmens ' Association, in order to discuss with these indivi- duals a plan for the landscaping of the downtown parking lots. The Authority will defer any decision on the acquisition of the parking lots pending Mr. Herron's report. J In the meantime, the Authority requests that the report given to it last night be delivered to Mayor John G. Christy in order that he may be advised of the situation. September 4, 1973. . :'The following Report of the Planning and Zoning Commission was ' presented to the Council: Planning and The Planning and Zoning Commission held a special meeting at Zoning 2: 00 p.m. , August 31, 1973, in the Jefferson City Council Chambers . Commission The purpose of the meeting was to review and make recommendations Report. . concerning Country Park Subdivision located off of Rainbow Drive, in the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Area. After due consideration of all the planning and work which has already gone into this project we feel that this subdivision meets the general requirements . of design and layout . The developer has made several changes in the original plat, upon recommendation from this Commission, including dedicating additional right-of-way for Rainbow Drive, The , street, water and sewage facilities will meet the subdivision regulations and the developer has further stated that he will build .all structures according to our national building codes . We would like to request the Council to allow the necessary signature be placed upon the original tracing so that it may be filed with the County Recorder of needs as soon as possible.
