Councilman Hager moved that the Loethen Oil Company be awarded the

Councilman Borgmeyer moved that the Overhead Door Company of operators
Jefferson City be awarded the bid since it carried a warranty.

A communication was received from Mid-Missouri Law Enforcement
Assistant Council, Region III, requesting $2,000.00 to be paid

The communication was referred to the Finance Committee.
A request was received from-Eugene Schenewerk to rezone his IlPlanning
property located on Highway 50 West at the Schellridge turnoff and
from a single family residence to highway commercial. J;Zoning

A communication was received from the Housing Authority regarding
the request of Louis (Doc) Meyer for a Building Permit to extend ''Building
his building, and recommending granting a building permit in this !'Permit

Councilman Hager moved that the Building Commissioner be authorized;!
to grant the necessary Building Permit. Motion passed.

The following was presented to the Council:
Dear Mayor Christy:
Thank you most kindly for your friendly and assuring letter
. dated November 26, 1973 , in which you report the action taken by
the Fire Committee and the regular Council at its meeting of
November 19, 1973, concerning the application of Fire Fighters
Local No. 671 to the State Board of Mediation requesting an elect:bn
to determine whether the members of Local No. 671, by majority vote,
wish to be represented for bargaining purposes with the City,
pursuant to Sections 105.500-105.530, inclusive, Revised Statutes
of Missouri, 1969.
The enclosed five copies of the certified results of the
election by secret ballot held by me at Fire Station No. I at 500
Missouri Boulevard, on November 29, 1973, are for you, the Fire
Committee, and the City's official files. I have already supplied
Fire Chief Vincent Willmeno, and, Mr. Paul Brandt, President, and
Mr. Rand Sparks , Secretary-Treasurer, of Fire Fighters Local No.
671, with copies identical to the copies enclosed for you for
information and use within their Union.
Best wishes for better improvements and growth of a great Fire
Department for the grand old capital City of Jefferson.

Board further finds and certifies Fire Fighters Local No. 671,
aforesaid, to be the exclusive bargaining representative of all of
the Fire Fighters in the appropriate bargaining unit described
above.

The following was received from-the-Housing Authority:
It is necessary for the Housing Authority to acquire Parcels
16-12t 37-11 A & B in Progress Project Mo. R-45, in order to finishi
development of downtown parking lots . I
Parcels 16-12 is located at 315 Commercial Street behind the
County Court House. Parcels 37-11A and 37-11B are located at
317 Adams and 409 East McCarty. All three parcels are owned by
Mr. Paul Griffin. We have made continuous effort to purchase these
parcels without success . Therefore the Authority feels that we
must condemn all three parcels to obtain title.

The Board of Commissioners passed a resolution authorizing the :
IlAuthority to file condemnation on parcels 16-12, 37-11A and 37-11B.
The Authority respectfully requests concurrence from the City

Not-for-j Mayor Christy stated that the Mayor is not supposed to appoint the
Profit-' Not-for-Profit-Corporation for the Water Company, that the Council
Corp. its supposed to make the appointments .
Councilman Nacy said that we should wait for a while, since
Mr. Robert Schwerman, Ranson & Company, is preparing a proposed
set of articles with three members of the Council in the Corporation.
Peripheral Councilman Nacy informed the Council that John Hahn, Executive
Parking Director, Missouri Oil Jobbers , had suggested that the City give
Lots . some thought to constructing peripheral arking lots for downtown
workers and have shuttle buses to take them to the downtown area,
which would aid in the energy crisis .
Councilman Hager moved that the Council adjourn, under the rules .
