raw sewage to overflow on the ground. They want to hook up to the city +

Discussion followed and a motion was made by Councilman Hager that the
insurance program be discussed at a later date and later meeting;.
Item 2. - Pay schedule of Mr. LandcrH, Mr. Bemboom, Mr. Smith, and

raises. Mr. Ed Rackers reviewed their- step raises and the procedures.

1. Request from Msgr. Joseph A. Vogelweid through his Real Estate Agent
Paul II. Kolb to rezone property located at 1206 Swifts Hwy. from
Single Family to "C" Multiple Dwelling.
Recommend that the request be approved.
2. Scott Cantine of the firm of Harland Bartholomew & Associates presented
a Tenative Draft of the Proposed Zoning Ordinance for the Extraterritorial
Jurisdiction of Jefferson City, Missouri for study and recommendations by the
Planning and Zoning Commission.
3. Commission Officers were elected as follows:

Commission ! The Jefferson City Planning & Zoning Commission in a special called meeting
Re ort. requested by Edwin H. Hackers, Jr. , Director of Public Works and Paul Pope,
Building Inspector, to check and review the zoning problem in the 400 block of
West Elm Street belonging to Capital Supply and property along West Elm:,.and
Mulberry Streets belonging to Cowley Dist. Co. , both parties plan to build on
their respective lots in the very near future, as Capital Supply has applied for
a building permit. Eight members of the Planning & Zoning Commission attended
this special meeting along with Mr. Hackers and Mr. Pope, with the following
recommendations suggested to City Council.

Regular Council Meeting, June 19, 1972
1. Recommend that the City Council repeal Ordinance No. 8462 enacted June 5,A
1972 concerning property in Inlot 679, and in place thereof enact a new
Ordinance with the zoning change from "E" Commercial to "H" Business.
2. Recommend that the Zoning Ordinance No. 5880 be changed on property
caned by Capital Supply located in Inlot 678 now zoned "I" Light Industrial be

hese two changes recommended by the Commission and if approved by the
City Council would put the entire area of the south half of the block from the
orner of West Elm north to the alley along Mulberry, then west to Walnut,
hence south and east to the corners of the 400 Block of West Elm Street. This
ould put all of Inlots 676-677-678 & 679 in the same zoning classification of
'H" Business which we feel would be to the best interest of the City of Jefferson
and to the property owners alike.

Councilman Strong moved that Bill No. 17 be amended by adding a new Section,
to be known as Section 2, and by changing the present Section 2 to Section 3.
The proposed new Section 2 will read as follows:
Section 2. This real property is being rezoned to "C" Multiple Dwellin
for use as a Beauty Shop only. In the event it is no longer used for a Beauty
Shop it will revert to "A-1" Single Family, after following the legal procedure
for rezoning.
The motion passed.

Public Councilman Borgmeyer requested that the Public Utilities Committee and Fire
Utilities & Department Committee set up a meeting with Public Water District in regard

Traffic and Councilman Gordon requested that the Traffic and Safety Division of the

Finance Councilman Seaman referred a request for funds from the Police Wives
