Councilmen present: Borgmeyer, Gordon, Hager, Nacy, Riner, 10 Scrivner, Seaman, Strong and Woodman. Call Councilmen absent: Ortmeyer, absent with leave. A quorum was declared present. The Special Council Meeting was called to consider the passage of the following Bills : # Increasing the number of Firemen. R Setting the salary scale of City Employees . Approving the Budget for 1972-1973. Bill No. 59, introduced by Councilmen Riner and Seaman, entitled: j "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, repealing Section '! 448 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, 1956, as Bill 59. amended, relating to the number of personnel in the City Fire Increasing Department, and enacting a new section, to be known as Section 448 number of of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, 1956, relating Firemen. to the same subject." Councilman Scrivner stated that people in the building trades are complaining about Firemen moonlighting. Fire Chief Willmeno informed the Council that under existing Ordinances , the Firemen cannot be prohibited from working. The Bill was read first and second time by title and on motion of Councilman Riner the rules were suspended and the Bill was read they third time by title and placed on final passage and was passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 8502: Councilmen voting Aye: Gordon, Hager, Nacy, Riner, Seaman and Strong. Councilmen voting Nay: Borgmeyer, Scrivner and Woodman. Councilmen absent: Ortmeyer, absent with leave. � . - - - - - - - - - - - Bill No. 60, introduced by Councilmen Mager, Seaman, Borgmeyer, Gordon, Nacy, Ortmeyer, Riner, Scrivner, Strong and Woodman, d: entitle "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, fixing the salaries and expense accounts of City Elective and Appointive Bill 60. Officials and Employees , and repealing Ordinance No. 8445 of the Fixing City, and all other Ordinances of the City, or parts thereof, in Salaries of conflict herewith." Elective and Councilman Riner moved that Bill No. 60 be amended by striking Appointive $100.00 and inserting in lieu thereof $250.00 of Section 1, Employees . subsection 2. The motion was defeated by the following vote: Councilmen voting Aye: Gordon, Nacy, Riner and Seaman. Councilmen voting Nay: Borgmeyer, Hager, Scrivner, Strong and Woodman. Councilmen absent: Ortmeyer, absent with leave. The Bill was then read the first and second time by title and on motion of Councilman Hager, the rules were suspended and the Bill was read the third time by title and placed on final passage and was passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 8503: Councilmen voting Aye: Gordon, Hager, Nacy, Riner, Scrivner, Seaman, Strong and Woodman. Councilmen voting Nay: Borgmeyer. Councilmen absent: Ortmeyer, absent with leave. Bill No. 61, introduced by Councilmen Hager, Seaman, Borgmeyer, Bill 61. Gordon, Nacy, Ortmeyer, Riner, Scrivner, Strong and Woodman, Adopting entitled: Budget - "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, adopting a Budget 1972-1973. for the City for the period November 1, 1972, to October 31, 1973, and appropriating money in the City Treasury to pay the cost of operating the City Government during said period in accordance with said Budget." Read first and second time by title and on motion of Councilman Hager, the rules were suspended and the Bill was read the third time by title and placed on final passage and was passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 8504: Councilmen voting Aye: Gordon, Hager, Nacy, Riner, Scrivner, Councilmen voting Nay: Borgmeyertrong and Woodman.
