MINUTES: Jeff Goodman moved to approve the minutes of the April 13, 1994 meeting as presented. Rick VanNoy seconded and the motion carried. Judy Barkley was introduced as the new Women's Association representative replacing Julie Deacon, who resigned. OLD BUSINESS: 1. High School Golf Team The Committee discussed ways the Golf Course could help the school team. They feel everyone should support Jr. golf. One suggestion was to waive fees for the team during their season. The season is from October through May. Mike Gantz will present information about the needs of the team at the next meeting. 2. Dave Gangwer attended the meeting to represent the Timberlost I Association. He came to voice a concern about the location of the Snack Shack near the 7th green. The complaint stems from the owner of the property directly behind the shack, who claims that the shack blocks the view from the property. Whiteman explained that the location is temporary and that there are plans for a permanent location in the future. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Advisory Committees Past Chairman Larson had started the idea of organizing Subcommittees with past members. Chairman Whiteman decided to try it with new members. After some discussion about the possibility of too much "micro management", the Committee decided on 3 categories. Clubhouse Grounds, Rick VanNoy; Rules and Regulations, Ted Whiteman and Jeff Goodman; Golf Maintenance and Operations, Frank Brown and Judy Barkley. They Subcommittees will report back at each meeting. 2. Golf Play Pace Policy The Committee discussed several possible ways to combat slow play. One suggestion was to set a time limit for play and have marshals to enforce the rule. The rules and regulations subcommittee will investigate and bring their findings to the next meeting. 3. Cart Traffic Some Committee members feel that in an effort to speed play, the "90 degree rule" should be extended to all carts not just red flag carts. Superintendent Denham suggested that this would increase compaction on the fairways. The reason the cart paths were installed was to limit the traffic on fairways. The Committee voted unanimously to not change the rule. It was suggested that we look into constructing a new sign on the 1st tee to inform players of rules and regulations. The old sign is outdated and not readily visible. WithAo further business the meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for June 1, 1994 Respectful Submitte Ted Whiteman, Chairman
