Elmer's Landscaping $ 2,009 .80 Councilman Borgmeyer moved that the bid will be held over. Motion passed. A communication was received from Mrs . Marcellus H. Markway in iLocal regard to the lack of decency in the media which reaches and 1rTheatres influences our youth the most, particularly the movies and the book !; and magazine stands . ayor Christy stated that he had contacted the Manager of the local; theatres in regard to the complaint. - A communication was received from the Missouri State Highway Mo. State Commission in regard to the request for the installation of flash- ;Highway ing lights in the Missouri Blvd. , and Schellridge area on Route SO ;Commission West. At this time the accident experience does not warrant flashing lights or reduced speed. - _ - - _ - _ - _ A recommendation for a merit step increase for Lieutenant Charles "Police R. Works . f. - - _ - _ - _ _ _ _ - Councilman Strong presented a letter of appreciation from Hazel V. !Letter of Hale for getting street light installed so quickly on Lee Street. ;;Appreciation Councilman Scrivner, Chairman of the Street Committee, presented the following report: !Street Corrnnittee Street Committee met April 3rd, 1972, with the following members jReport present: Ed Rackers, Jack Kramer, Jim Strong, John Riner, Delbert i Wells , Fred Seaman and Forrest Scrivner. I; M. S. Adrian requests to look into city sewers for service of 1 Whitton Heights Trailer Court, which is on a lagoon that is now tool; small for expanded 80 lots . Adrian will extend lines , at his own ij cost. There would be no cost to city as lines and crossing of Expressway have been completed. He will also pay for part of ! 1crossing cost and pay the monthly service charge for the 80 lots . railers are billed $2.00 each, but the owner of the Court is billed for number of trailers hooked up each month. No city time is involved in the project. Councilman Seaman moved, Riner ;1 seconded, that Mr. Adrian be allowed to hook into city sewers . i Motion passed with 4 yea 0 no. Complaint was received from Mrs . Bijarchi, 920 Ihler Road, relative to a ditch washing out in the rear of her property. Mr. ackers explained a pipe was a solution butthere is a disagreement among property owners on sharing the cost. If property owners will uy the pipe, the City will install it. T ----------- n Iman Nacy, Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee, C the following report: ,The Public Utilities Committee met March 31st with Councilmen Nacy, PubliclBorgmeyer and Woodman present. The Committee checked the following. Utilities ' Committeell. Elks Club, located on Chestnut Street. A pole is available for Reportl a light, but the Committee could not determine if the pole is it located on city or private property. t;2. Walmart Area - Committee recommends that the Director of Public ?! 11 Works check right-of-way and Missouri Power & Light Company estimate number of poles needed for proper lighting. !3. Helias High School - Plenty of lights but it is dark at entranceway, probably needs larger lights . Motion passed. - - - - - - - - - - - - !The following report of the Planning and Zoning Commission was ,presented to the Council: Planningil and The Jefferson City Planning and Zoning Commission met in special it Zoning session at 7:00 p.m. , March 23 , 1972, in the Board Room of the Commission Chamber of Commerce, for the purpose of viewing and discussing the Report '�Itext of the Revised Proposed Zoning Ordinance and the Revised I Map which carried the date of March 23 , 1972. �; An explanation of the contemplated changes and the reason for ,,the changes in the Ordinance and Map was made by Scott Cantine 0 f Harland Bartholomew and Associates and Jerry Keene, City Planner. There was a great deal of discussion concerning the Ordinance And Map and during the discussion several changes were made by the Commission. It is the thoughts of the Commission that for the protection of the property owners of Jefferson City that "the Ordinance and Map should be adopted . 1It is recommended by the Commission that the Text of the TProposed Zoning Ordinance and the Proposed Zoning Map as presented o the Commission with the suggested changes be adopted by the City Council. No other business coming before the Commission, the meeting as adjourned at 10: 00 P.M. "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, changing, Rezoning. amending and modifying the Zoning Map of the City of Jefferson, ulberry Missouri, as incorporated in Ordinance 5880, by rezoning certain and specifically described land." Elm Sts. Councilman Riner moved that Bill No. 55 be placed on the Informal Calendar again. Motion passed. Bill No. 89, introduced by r n Councilmen Scrivner and Wildhaber, Bill 89. entitled: Establish g "An Ordinance establishing Sewer District No. 123 , defining Sewer boundaries thereof, and providing for the improvement and iDistrict construction of sewers in said Sewer District No. 123 within the INo. 123. City of Jefferson, Missouri." Councilman Scrivner moved that Bill No. 89 be stricken from the calendar. Motion passed. Councilman Scrivner referred the matter of changing the "Yield" Parking and sign to "Stop" sign at Riviera and Capitol Avenue to the Parking Traffic and Traffic Commission. Commission ~ r Councilman Strong referred the request of "No Parking" on both Parking and sides of the 500 block of Jackson Street to the Parking and Traffic Traffic Commission. Commission Councilman Riner moved that the Council adjourn, under the rules. Motion passed. ournment.
