Bus Councilman Seaman moved that the appointment be approved. Motion Driver. !passed. �ICouncilman Wildhaber, Chairman of the Finance Committee, presented +the following report: Finance Committee IThe Budget which the Finance Committee recommends is as follows: Report Revenue Fund - $1,987,067 .48 Parking Garage - $45,985.00, Airport Fund - $144,735.46 Parking Authority Fund - $58,277,58, Interest and SinkingFund - $246,832.50 Capitol Improvement Fund - $300,000. 0 and Heavy Equipment Fund - $21,000.00, making a total of $20807,898.02. Councilman Scrivner, Chairman of the-Street Committee, presented Street the following report: Committee Report The Street Committee met at 7:00 P.M. , October 11th. Present were Councilmen Wells, Strong and Scrivner, Mr. Rackers and Roger Verslues. . Councilman Borgmeyer, Fourth Ward, also attended the meeting before presenting the recommendations to a group of people from his district.. The Committee recommends that we authorize the improvement of St. Mary's Blvd. , charging the property owners $5.00 per front foot with the balance being paid byy the City from the Capitol Improvemen Fund. The $S.00 .charge will be assessed .on a tax bill basis. The Committee also recommends that West Main Street, Green- berry Road and Swifts Highway be improved under the $5.00 per foot agreement as approved for St. Mary's Blvd. /s/ Forrest Scrivner, Chairman. Pr 18- 1971, Councilman Hager announced there would be a meeting of the Building Committee on Thursday, October 21st, 8:00 o'clock P.M. , Council Buildings Chambers, and the City Attorney will also be present at the meeting Committee - - - - - - - - - - - - meeting. Councilman Riner, Chairman of the Fire Committee, presented the following report: Fire !Committee The Fire Committee met Monday evening, October 18th, with all Report members present but Councilman Seaman. The appointment of Roger Dale Drinkard was approved as a Probationary Fireman, in accordance with the Emergency Employment Act. /s/ Jack Riner, Chairman. Councilman Riner moved that the report be approved. Motion passed. Councilman Nacy, Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee, Public presented the following report: Utilities �lCommittee The Public Utilities Committee of the City Council recommends the Report. following: 1. Install 6800 lumen mercury vapor light on Scenic Drive - approximately at 2420 Scenic Drive. 2. Install 6800 lumen mercury vapor light on Air View Drive - approximately at 830 Air View Drive. Councilman Wildhaber, Chairman of the Annexation Committee, Annexation announced there would be a meeting with Mr. Bob Hawkins at 3:00 Committee o 'clock P.M. , October 25th, at the Chamber of Commerce, regarding Meeting. the Apache Flats Incorporation. Councilman Wildhaber will not be able to be present at the meeting and asked Councilman Hager to take over for him. - - - - - - - - The following report of the Parking and Traffic Commission was Tarking presented to the Council: �� and Traffic Meeting held October 12, 1971, 8:00 A.M. , with all members present Commission except Chairman Riley. Report. 1) The Commission recommends that 10 hour parking meters be i installed on the north side of the 100 block of West McCarty i Street and that a two-hour parking limit be established on the south side of this block. 2) The Commission recommends that angle parking be eliminated in the 300 block of Washington Street. The Commission further recommends that 2-hour parking meters be installed on the west + side of this block north of the alley. I 3) The Commission held for further study the request for two-hour parking in the 700 block of Adams Street. 4) The Commission discussed traffic movement on the widened portion of McCarty Street. Since the street will be striped for 4-lanes of traffic, the Commission recommended that parking be prohibited near each of the signalized intersections to provide right turn lanes . Only seven metered stalls need to be eliminated. The parking restrictions are as follows : north side of McCarty extending 85 'east of east curb of Monroe 90' east of east curb of Madison 77 ' east of east curb of Jefferson south side of McCarty extending 95 ' west of west curb of Monroe 66 ' west of west curb of Madison. Councilman; 1;Seaman explained the Commission felt that since the location was on ;, ; the Expressway coming into the City they had to consider the view �? !=from the Highway. Councilman Wildhaber and Councilman Scrivner boti� !stated they had many calls in opposition to this rezoning. �iCouncilman Seaman presented a petition containing Ill names of ,residents in the vicinity of Aurora Street in oppositio n to Item 4 � 1"Councilman Strong questioned Item 5 why this was denied when a ,previous request in this same vicinity had been approved. Becker, 2010 Redwood, and the Planning and Zoning Commission had appointed Israel J. Collier, 720 Lafayette Street, as their representatives on the Commission. Councilman Hager moved that the Council be represented by Council- man Seaman on the Commission. Motion passed. A communication received-from Rev. Harold J. Laursen, 1529 Southwes Boulevard, regarding bus transportation in and surrounding the Transit Parkview Housing Project, was referred to Mr. Herb Knight, Transit Authority Authority. Councilman Strong mentioned a traffic hazard at the corner of Dept, of Ellis Boulevard and Notre Dame and it was referred to the Director Public of Public Works and the Street Commissioner.
