Station Councilman Riner moved that the bids be referred to the Building and Grounds Committee, with power to act. The motion passed. Mayor Christy submitted the-following-to the Council: Appointment .Larry 'I have the honor to transmit herewith, for your consent and �Haake approval, the following appointment to office: Larry Haake, 132 West Circle Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri, as a member of the Firemen's Retirement Board, until his successor is appointed and qualified, vice Ellis Meyer, deceased. The motio ! passed. - - - - - - - - - - - - j The following was presented to the Council: RE: ITC of Jefferson Gross Revenue i In accordance with the provisions of the CATV franchise with the City of Jefferson, we hereby declare that the gross revenue of the 11TC of comppany for such service within the City of Jefferson was 'Jefferson - $182,608. 53 for the year ended December 18, 1970. ;Gross 'jRevenue "Based on 5% of gross revenue, the franchise fee amounts to $9,130.43. As our franchise fee prepayment of $10,000 for 1970 exceeds 5% of gross revenue, no additional payment is due. Councilman Riner moved that the City Clerk inquire from Inter- national Telemeter in regard to the one channel to provide time, temperature, barometer settings, etc. , twenty-four hours a day. The motion passed. A communication was received from-the-Missouri State Highway Route "B" Commission giving notice of public hearing on corridor location of Public Route "B"; Cole County, to be held at the Cole County Courthouse, Hearing. Tuesday, the 9th day of March, 1971, at 7:30 P.M. The communication was referred to the Director of Public Works . A request was received from the Thomas Jefferson Library System I,Street to acquire necessary public easements for sanitary and storm sewer Committee purposes to enable such drainage from the new Library through a I� private alley to the north and terminating at Capitol Avenue. The matter was referred to the Street Committee. fi A request to rezone property located at-219 Schumate Chapel Road (Planning from "A-1" to "E" District was received from Harold L. Planning Three prints of a general development plan and three prints of a and preliminary subdivision plan, which were prepared for Mr. Leland Zoning Fischer, were submitted by P. S . Thomas. Commission The plats were referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Councilman Kliegel, Chairman of the Finance-Committee, presented the following report: The Finance Committee met at 7:05 P.M. , February 1, 1971. The Committee recommends that Roger Versleus be named City Engineer Finance his salary was re-referred to the Finance Committee. Committee On motion of Mr. Borgmeyer, seconded by Mr. Riner, the Committee Report recommends that any Department may proceed to purchase office equipment not to exceed $750.00 per machine. Councilman Riner, Chairman of the Public Health Committee, Public presented the following report: Health Committee The Public Health Committee met at 6:00 P.M. , February 1, 1971. Report. All students and teachers who had sent communications to the Council in regard to air and water pollution were invited to attend this meeting. None appeared. Since there will be no Humane Society, Dr. Nemer will make the necessary arrangements in regard to a dog pound. Respectfully submitted, /s/ John W. State- Councilman Nacy, Chairman of the City-State Relations Committee, City reported that the Historical Society had requested to make a Relations presentation at the next Council meeting, in regard to Lohman's Committee Landing. The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Iuen: WHEREAS, the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is an expanding City in the growing County of Cole, and WHEREAS, the City Park Board deems it necessary to improve a ; public park to serve its Citizens as well as the traveling public, j NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, as follows : 1. That application be made under the Land and Water Conservation 1 . Fund of the United States Government for a grant-in-aid of 50 per cent of the total cost of the project. 2. That a project proposal be prepared and submitted to the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation through the State Inter-Agency Council for Outdoor Recreation for said grant-in-aid. Committee - Councilman Riner moved that the Director of the National Railroad Rail Passenger Corporation be notified by telegram that the Mayor and Pax Members of the City Council request Rail Pax to route the train from St. Louis to Kansas City through Jefferson City on the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
